Hey there! I personally do believe in reincarnation, simply from feeling that kids, even babies, have so much wisdom. There's long been evidence of genetic memory, which may be considered a form of reincarnation in that we retain something of all of our ancestors within ourselves, but there is also a very interesting study done by Dr. Ian Stevenson that really gives some very tangible data on past life studies, you can easily find articles on it with a Google search. I already believed but this was mega.

I do. I've always been fascinated with the idea. My religion is pretty big on reincarnation as well.

This is very interesting topic, and well, my own opinion on this is somewhat complicated. In one way I do believe, in other way i do not believe in reincarnation. Firstly, I must apoint that i do not believe in Dualism, and i believe that evil is just absence of goodness, same as darkness is absence of light. My beliefs are based on Judeo-Christian point of view, and it may be interesting theory, so here it goes:
Before we came to this world, before we were born, we were part of pre-eternal God, and were his essence, we did not pre-existed somewhere in other life or other dimensions. I have been researching this stuff for a short time, and I came across few strongly supported claims that reincarnation and pre-existence of soul as idea firstly came from Platonic Thought, and I discovered it is truth. Eastern people picked it up from him, and it still have strong influence in todays society.

And explanation of visions, I would tell DNA memmory, nothing else, or maybe (but less likely) demonic possesion, or simply someone/something is playing with your mind, it is common problem, nothing out of ordinary in spiritual world...
But, there is big But here (heheheheh), Part of Oriental Orthodox Churches claim that there may be few excepcions. For example, if someone didnt have opportunity to live his life, Die sad death (for example slavery or something like that) there might be chance, that God give him another chance...
So, yeah, it is a bit of complicated if you ask me.
DISCLAIMER: This is My Own opinion, that I cling on as fact, you dont have to! (this disclaimer is here because of one angry grampa who loves to discredit my posts, insult me, and supress my own oppinion)

Lol oh LoreCraft. I have nothing wrong with your view, religion is based on personal belief and to you yours is correct. I do like how you ended your post. Brysing can be a bit harsh sometimes but it's because he doesn't like people stating belief as fact.

Interesting view about God giving people a second chance if they died in a horrible way. My mom likes this one she read in a Stephen King novel where everyone is born with a purpose. Once that purpose is fulfilled you are reborn as 'random'. [Hit by a bus, murder victim so on] But no one knows for certain what happens.

I love the topic reincarntion becaues when I was younge maybe 5 or 6, I asked my mom about a boating accident. She keept saying I have never been in a boating accident. I was almost certain I almost drowned in a boating accident. But she kept telling me nothing of this happend. To this day I wont go in boats at all or on cruise ships becaues a fear of drowning is big .

Not only that when I was younge I was always a firm believer in reincarnation. I remember my mom saying to me once<, I no I dont get along with your father but without him I wouldnt have you. I replied mom, Of course you would stil have me, I would have just had a different dad.

as I got older, I started to think maybe we just die an thats it. But its always fascinated me about rencartion becaues no oe metioned it to me, and I jsut came into this world thinking that was the way things worked. As I got older I questioned everything,

Merry Meet

I too believe in reincarnation. The concept of either being punished or rewarded forever because of a handful of years on earth didn't click with me. As I got older the idea of heaven sounds maddening to me, especially when you factor in the "Seven Deadly Sins" so if you want to do anything it might technically count as a sin. Though I've never had an experience of a past life I prefer the idea we can live an infinite amount of times experiencing an infinite number of lives from grass to humans and everything in between.

Blessed Be.
