i know it can burn. i'm saying it burns with (great) difficulty. in fact it's so resistant when i hold a flame to it the lighter gets incredibly hot before i can hold the flame for any significant length of time.

yes, obviously caution is advised when playing with fire.

You will never create a magical fireball. If you could then the laws of physics would cease to exist. Any elemental spontaneous creation from nothing...it is fluff.

Magic can do a lot...but not anything like that. Ever. No matter how much you think it will.

You're gonna have to find a ritual for summoning Sheogorath, and then he'll probably make you go through some absolutely ridiculous rigmarole of a mission. You may end up having to sacrifice your sanity for this, which is something you should seriously consider. As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't go near that guy with a barge pole, but it's up to yourself, if turning people into chickens is really that big of a deal to you :/

Eldergleam are you kidding me? this site is about real magick not role playing i have played enough elder scroll games to know you are on about the Daedric Prince of Madness. This site is supposed to be for those who teach and learn real magick not the crazy made up magick in the elder scroll series. trust me if that magick existed i would be happiest guy in the world but it doesn't.

Please can you keep posts relating to real magick,

thank you.

He is asking an honest question because he does not know what real magick is like. There is no need to give him fake advice instead of real information.

i just want to say something: even if you don't have much money, try SAVING. if you can put aside 5 $/€/£ a week it doesn't take that long to be able to afford decent stuff. the guy from magicwandsofwizardry.com is currently making me a Royal Ebony wand carved from a single piece of wood and he quoted me $55. that may be he's giving me a very good price but you HAVE to make sure you have the right gear.

I won't say things that have already been said, but Fanboy, I do have some comments towards you. Not everyone has the ability to save money because their expensives are greater than their income. Money isn't a "right", so not everyone has it (some people don't earn anything at all).

Also, ebony is no more magical than any other wood - it's just got different energy for you to work with. There's actually even some ebony wands sold in SoM's shop. There is the Ebony Wand (which is something I've bought and still use) at $37.56 and the Ebony Hair Wands (used like chopsticks in hair buns) at $22.91.

Tools are used to help focus energy or be used in any other traditional manner. They are useful, but unless they are called for in a tradition, they are not required. What you consider the "right gear" won't be what other people consider the right gear. It's all about personal preference.
