I don't want to argue because you bring up a good point but I do believe a spell is magic, I see a spell like a cake you add all the ingredients to get a overall result but the putting together of the cake is the bit that matters. its a bad metaphor but I hope I got my point across.

well a ritual is just a more elaborate spell usually with more steps and sometimes more people, I only just got a grasp of the concept a few weeks ago.

Poisonnapple, your description of changing ingredients into a cake is exactly what magic is. The changing of one or more things into something totally different. A spell is an attempt to do exactly that, to change things. But the spell is not of itself magic!

Yes I understand now, I tried a spell, and it wasnt simple as casting a wand Abra kadabra, you have to put alot of energy, its excatly like a ritual how much energy and thought , but why brysing doesn't believe, only he knows!

because there is only one thing certain about the craft and that is there will always be people who disagree but its always good to listen to their point and think on it and make up your own mind

A spell is just a recipe. Without the energy behind it, it means nothing. For a cake, you put together the correct ingredients. But without the heat of the oven (energy), it will not turn into cake. Same with a spell. You put together the ingredients, but without the know how (energy), it will not succeed.
