Well to answer the "Are we children or Adults," question, well in actuality, this site does play host to a lot of children around the world as well as adults. Understand, everyone is in "training" and forever will be, no one can master magick, as it's not fully known to anyone the full capability of this universal art.

Obviously one is always in training, that's what life is; education. As for the children, if they're on this site seriously then they are children physically only, in terms of their mentallity if they are capable of comprehending powers beyond the ability of their own sensory organs to detect then I am beyond sure that they can muster the power to write a sentence.

Also hello, it's nice to meet you.

Well,Ganon The Grey, I think you will find that most children on this site do believe in magic. But it is the magic of Harry Potter; Charmed;Twilight; The Vampire Diaries; and other such TV shows and Movies.
All we "older ones" can do is to try and point the young away from all the nonsense. Show them that real magic is wonderful; and nothing like Spiderman or Superman!

Honestly I don't understand why people in general are so drawn to that balderdash. Sure it's all very flashy, but if they took even just a moment to look into matters for themselves they'd see the truth is just so much more awesome than any fiction Hollywood can conjure up for them, that they'd run to it and never look back. But I guess that moment is just too long for some people...

Regardless, it's a pleasure to meet you Brysing. And I can hardly claim to be one of your "old ones". I'm young, in body and heart, and though I seem to be possessed of a peculiar wit above and beyond many of my peers, I can still hardly claim to be wise, or powerful or even very clever much of the time. Not like you sir, who seem so learned and experienced in contrast.

Well,Ganon, we were discussing children, not people! Children very often do not see a movie or a TV show as "entertainment"; to a child it seems real!
And, in today's world-wide TV news, children see things that are true, within minutes of watching a Hollywood movie about "magic". Is it any wonder that children are puzzled when it is so difficult to separate fact from fiction? So, when we tell the truth to the young,we get arguments. But every now and then we get a youngster on SoM who actually wants to learn. They are the ones who make it all worthwhile. The ones I am constantly teaching.Like the young girl I have recently taught dowsing; to her absolute astonishment, and delight!
Meanwhile, Harry Potter rules,okay!

You make a good point, and I suppose I should not be so hard on them. At worst they are only being children, if not also products of the times but they can hardly be blamed for that. Patience is a virtue I'm still trying to master when it comes to entertaining ignorance, I'm afraid.

Oh,yes! Patience is needed with children and the ignorant!
But,the children who were Harry Potter fans, and are now adults, do accept that Harry Potter is not real; but still good entertainment. I have watched a couple of the movies, and they are very good "escapism",that can seem very real to a child.
I remember very well that from the age of about five, for a few years, I was quite convinced that Errol Flynn really was Robin Hood! And Roy Rogers was a real cowboy!

Looking back, I remember now that it was my own interest in Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Sword of Shannara and the like that first piqued my interest in magick, and started me down the path I'm on. And so, in a way I suppose I am indebted to these works which after all were not meant to be taken literally in any capacity.

And ^ I just responded to your mail, I hope it was helpful!
