The necronomicon is a plot device Lovecraft used in his novels, not an authentic and literal ancient text.

Lovecraft didn't take inspiration from Abdul. Lovecraft created Abdul and his "book" as characters in his novels. They are fantasy, nothing more.

The Necronomicon that Lovecraft wrote about did not and does not exist. He made that whole idea up as part of the plot of his novels. It was and is make-believe as is this scimitar you're talking about.

Since Lovecraft wrote about the Necronomicon others have created books that they called that, but neither those books nor Lovecraft's are based on an ancient text.
