I'm sorry, but excuse you. The fey have been a cereal belief in witchcraft for centuries, dating back to the Tuatha de Danan in Ireland. Faeries are some of the more important aspects of certain witchcraft traditions. Some of the most intensely devoted witches I have ever met follow such traditions. I've no doubt the Fey exist, and are even, perhaps, a more refined or warped concept of animism. It is not for you to pass such judgements though.

As to any other beliefs, it can hardly be said that anyone who believes in such things live in a fantasy world. Especially when logic of the modern world is applied to their existence. Ironically, you mention vampires. I'm sure though, you've heard of vampirism, a mental disorder wherein a person will literally drink the blood of other humans or animals. While vampires may not exist as folklore suggests, it cannot be denied they do exist.

Suppose you traveled to a small, rural, Mexican Village, and spoke of El Chupacabra. The people who lived there would likely have a fit. Another side of that coin, speak to any member of the Navajo Tribe about Skinwalkers. You're likely to be cast off the reservation. Just because you do not believe in something does not mean it isn't real for others.

Please keep that in mind.

Forgive me if I come across as rude. I do not, however, handle condescension well.

I completely agree with Dakota. faeries are most defiantly real. What is fake is how disney and children's fairy tales make them out to be however. I like to think of the fay more like nature spirits than anything else. I respect brysings opinions, but I think it's a bit rude to say people who beleive in mythical creatures are living in a fantasy world, there is no proof of the existence or non excistence of magical beings, so both sides are entitled to there beliefs, and in my opinion each side should keep there thoughts to them selfs. this is not met to sound rude at all, just a point of veiw that's all so please don't hate on me. Thank you.

Though i personally dont practice it, i have read on dragon magick, Part of the books ive read mentions a beast gate that is opened, the idea of this is that in theory, many creatures exist on the other side of this gate, however the thing to consider and remember is that such things are not material and most definately not hollywood style. There is however a medical virus being researched by professor in new york i believe, its officially entitled "endogenous Retroviruses" which is a mutegin of DNA cells, unlike popular belief however, there are many working theories on this retrovirus. The most dumbed down version of it however is that the mutagin is first introduced to the blood, and test subjects between several strands of the same species would indicate that if the mutated blood meets regular blood from a forign source, it engages in a merging process, transferring a sort of data from the DNA cells, allowing say, a rat who couldnt find the cheese in the maze before, to find the cheese because it had a billion rounds of dna from a mouse that could. That is the most simplistic version i could give, that however is not magick but DNA genetics at work. However i hope its of interest. The project itself is called real vampire, however the science behind it doesnt have much to do with the traditional vampire at all, an odd choice on their part.

Merlin is a fictional character in the Arthurian legends, not a real person.

In the legends he was the son of a human mother and a God of the Earth. But again, this is legend, not fact.

i believe in mermaids, and faeries especially, but not everything. you have to remember, some people drink human blood- and call themselves vampires :/
also some people dont believe in demons, devils, angels (which may or may not just be a list of the same thing repeqted so far 3x) or spirits, ghosts

and the big one- witches and witchcraft.
so whos to say they cant be real? in the right conditions anything is possible, and we live in an infinite universe! (theory)
so why not?

What you believe doesn't change whether something is real or fake no matter what. However someone else has no power either. No one has yet to prove the existence of such things nor been able to prove them false. Saying that someone is living in a fantasy world for believing in these things is just as ignorant as confirming their belief without enough evidence to do so.

I too like anime.well, the main reason to like it was that in most of the anime shows such as demon summoning, specific demon name, witchcraft, characters are found to be real but the story they are put in is fake,of course.for e.g. sebastian michales in black butler, all demon characters in nura the rise of the yokai clan, witchcraft in rental magica, etc are all real.
