@AstridSpirit dragons are among the astral plane. They are not the divine they are an equal. Dragons are used as representation sort of like Satan only dragons exist. It represents making yourself the best you can be like you were the divine yourself. Even though you are not the divine. Best wishes.

Even this idea of dragons being "astral" is complete hypothesis, and one that I find somewhat distasteful, considering my practices into astral projection. Unless the term "astral" changes in the context of this conversation, which it may well do, I suppose. It's as the original posters on the first page said; it is purely subjective opinion, nothing more.

I agree with Drailik. The astral plane cannot be relied upon to offer an objective viwpoint of reality- everyone sees something different, everyone's perception is different and everyone's receptiveness is different.

Not to mention, it can be hard to differentiate subconscious manifestations and actual external contact upon the astral plane- there even be no difference!

Is it possible to see a dragon on the astral plane and converse? Yes. Just as it is possible to speak to a two-headed giant, or any other being you could possibly imagine.

However, physically, these things do not and will never exist. They cannot even be objectively proved to exist on any realm of existence at all. Astral projection records are about as reliable as a dream journal.

I really get fed up reading that anything that is actually impossible, is always "possible" on the so-called astral plane. I think most people on this site have a vivid imagination.

Don't worry ladies and gentlemen; on the astral plane, Brysing actually loves these kinds of discussions. *Really*. (wink wink)

I believe Dragons existed many years ago, yes, but I don't believe they do anymore or at least their is not as many of them due to the dragons being hunted in the viking days.
There is many accounts of Dragons being sighted many, many years ago from all around the world.
From the research I've done, Dragons were around during the age of dinosaurs and evolved to survive the giant star that wiped out the dinosaurs - I believe by going underwater and then evolving back to land animals. I believe when humans began rising up as "top dog" so to say, dragons began dying off because of lack of food and Humans hunting them. I believe a lot of Dragons were hunted because they would take and kill live shock, but there was also a lot of people who would kill dragons for reward. Painting your face with the blood of a baby dragon was seen as putting a person in a very powerful role back in the viking days.
So I don't believe there is many dragons around anymore, maybe in deep, remote areas but not easy to come across if they do still exist.

I'm sorry to disagree, Kaos, but as a scientist (specifically one who studies animals and has thus taken courses such as theory of evolution) I really disagree that they were ever, or are, physical. For starters, if a creature like that had existed there most definitly would be some kind of fossil record to indicate so: it would have had hard components (bones, scales, horns, claws, etc) which would have left imprints at the very least. None of this has been found. Until that is found, they are considered strictly fantasy in the physical sense.

" From the research I've done, Dragons were around during the age of dinosaurs and evolved to survive the giant star that wiped out the dinosaurs - I believe by going underwater and then evolving back to land animals ." I would like to know where you did your research on such a thing. Evolution, you realize, is a process that is slow and involves very subtle changes. The amount of time it would take for any animal to evolve to live on land, then under water, then evolve to live back on land, would be incredulous. And evolution doesn't work in such a way. Evolution, for the large part, is due to genetic chance and randomness. No animal can just will itself to evolve. Not only that, but the sheer physiology and how anatomy functions wouldn't allow for such a thing. The ENTIRE makeup of the animal would have to change in order to survive.

Big reptiles did exist, even some who flew. But the plausibility that someone as large as dragons were described to be does not physically work. Birds, and the reptiles that did fly, do so because they are very lightweight and have hollowed bones as well as other adaptations to doing so. The dimmensions of how big the wings would have to be just to generate enough lift to pull a big body like that off the ground are illogical. If it was like apterosaur with only two limbs and two wings, that would be conceivable. As a vertebrate, however, and one possessing four limbs and two wings- it just couldn't. (That's mainly talking about the Western idea of dragons.. but the Eastern idea of dragons, which tend to be snake like with no wings and flying, is even more impossible).

I could go on and on, but here's the fact: dragons are not physical beings.
