I agree winter, some people are doubtful because they incarnated so many times on earth.

Winter_Wolf, you're describing exactly what I thought starseeds were. Souls. Reincarnation. The universe is so big it only makes sense that some souls have past lives on other planets.

I hate to be the cynic (Alright, I don't really. Apologies.) but the Starseed concept, along with the accompanying ideas of Indigo Children and whatnot are inventions originating from the western parts of the United States where people profit a great deal off of New Age concepts.

To quote wikipedia:

"Star people (also "starseeds" or "lightbeings") is a term used to describe human beings who believe they originated as extraterrestrial life from other worlds or planets, and arrived to Earth through birth or as a walk-in to an existing human body."

So the way Otherkin describes it, fluffy-sounding or not, is quite spot on to the actual nature of the belief.

It's a great way to sell stuff to people feeling bored, alienated, and otherwise different. Also of note, Timothy Leary - noted advocate of psychotropic drugs - wrote a book named Starseed that could seemingly have inspired much of this trend. That is likely rather debatable though, as I found the book rather unreadable.

I agree with AwakeTooLong.Humans have always wondered if there is life on other planets. And there may well be! But mix that curiosity with movies such as "Star Wars", and TV "Star Trek", and the young and immature will want to be "different" from other humans. It's a belief, and as I have said many times on SoM, anyone may believe anything they wish.Everybody would like to be "more powerful", or "stronger", and if they cannot be either, they would want to believe that they are "different". In any case why should any life on another planet be more intelligent that humans? (and humans are not all that intelligent anyway!)
This planet was formed from a star. So, in that sense, we are all Star Seeds! But we are born, live for a while, and then die; just like every living creature and plant on this planet.

Except that Starseeds (or some of them) get to accuse our politicians of being reptile shapeshifting extraterrestrials who set up FEMA concentration camps and organize false flag terrorist attacks in partnership with clandestine fraternities such as Freemasons and Illuminati.

...which...ermm...

There's fluff and then there's THAT.

Otherwise, I think people should be allowed to identify themselves however they want. I consider it, much like the use of magic, as a language by which people articulate and process their internal world. As long as it doesn't create a schism with mundane life, I do believe that people should be safe and free to explore these. Just, you know...don't expect people to elevate you above anybody else just because you feel like calling yourself Arcturian or Sirian today.

People like to special and unique, personally I don't need to come from a different star system to be unique. There are so many of these special new age terms now, it is hard to keep track.

Star children, indigo children, crystal children, rainbow children.

I do not doubt that there is life on other planets, in fact we have found life on the planets in our solar system, albeit in bacterial form.

But as a rule of thumb, I dismiss most new age teachings as nothing more than nonsense earned to make the author money fast.

Real occult books do not do that well, as the teachings are not sugar-coated to flatter each individual or make them feel positive. Not necessarily a bad thing in the scheme of things. But I'm a cynic, sweetness and light all of the time makes me want to vomit.

We are not talking about that whole conspiracy pumped out by David Icke and his ilk, are we?

Reptilian shapeshifting aliens belong in science fiction films, in reality we have politicians who are human beings and make poor choices.
