Getting ride of the game system will not help the situation it will only make him angry and unstable. To help your son you must bring him up to speed on another activity he finds just as interesting. If he is into girls this can be very good tool to manipulate him towards portraying the "gaming" as a bad thing. I must admit I had trouble dealing with video games when I was young. Simply what got me less attached was .. well.. one very big reality check. Don't worry I got a feeling ones right around the corner.

Hope he puts down the keyboard - tools have there use - too much of anything could be bad even reading or studying.
