Is this normal?

So, I got some sage, but when I burned it, it smelled awful! It smelled like a mix of body oder and weed. Is this what sage really smells like?

By the way, it is raw sage. A sage bundle. I believe it to be white sage

I have some white sage and when I burn it, it has more of a sweet smell to it.

I know that I have some common sage/garden sage that smells really strong. It has a very strong woody, Robitussin type smell. When dried and ground, the smell gets very strong. Maybe you have a similar type of sage?

i suggest a cleansing bath with salt and a candle before using it next time. that is how it smells to things that dont like it. it is a salty herb. salt is made up of positive ions. positive and negative cannot exist in the same space. i sage my house every day. seems like the world will come to and end if i dont. lol.

Might not have been white sage. And be careful, as it may also have mold on it. That would surely smell bad! And might be a problem if inhaled.

There isn't any mold on it as far as I'm aware.
