Maybe it is a way that the spirit is using to communicate with you, as if it has something else to tell you. I don't really know of anyway to actually know if the spirit is still there, although it can still be there anyway, but if you want the spirit gone, then you could find a way to ward it away, such as sprinkling sage around the area where you used the board, and maybe on the board.
It reminds me of a story about River Phoenix [an actor I admire] during his memorial service two glasses randomly shattered about 15 minutes apart. He was someone who always pulled pranks, but never grasped humour. Everyone concluded it wad him trying to lighten the mood.
While the spirit said goodbye, it could of still been in the room and wanted you to know. The spirit probably left afterwards otherwise you would sense it and be dealing with more occurances.
ok when the candle lit back up from the spirit/ghost it means that the ghost/spirit wants your attention and to know if there is still a ghost/spirit there you will feel a random cold spot in that very room and you can also feel the heavy attention. And heads up when the ghost/spirit tells you if its a friend or loved one that has died it's more likely that its a demon that's trying to make out that it is a friend or loved one. so once your sucked in then you will know all about it can lend to serious injuries or EVEN DEATH!
so Ouija board shouldn't be something to be played with unless if you seriously know what you are doing and the outcomes of your actions
I agree it shouldn't be messed with as was the case in 1949 and a few more cases similar to it but not documented i would completely advise against using it if your gonna think of it being part of a truth or dare or any kind of game because it's just and dangerous as taunting them in an abandoned building 100's of years old or even abandoned hospitals because it could cost you your live or if your lucky only some scratches or bruises.
