Is this normal?

I recently got into cartomancy, but something strange is happening. Whenever I do a reading, the meaning of the cards/what will happened or what will happen flashes into my mind when I close my eyes.

Is this a normal thing to happen?

It means you're gifted.

Certain people can perform certain psychic/magic skills more easily than others. In your case, that skill is Cartomancy.

No, it's not "normal", but it's a good different.

I wouldn't necessarily call this "premonition." Premonition is when you catch glimpse of the future.

This sort of thing is, however, at the core of any sort of divination. The cards, pendulums, or whatever else you are using serves as a tool to guide your mind to the answers that might help. For some, they are never more than cards that they interpret based on memorized meanings. For some, the symbolism within the cards helps to guide their intuition in providing whatever answers they might need. For some, they don't need the cards.

You might not need the cards. For me, things started this way, and I have rarely bothered to pick up a deck of Tarot since.

True. Getting a visual from a reading is not necessarily "premonition". I personally don't feel divination tells us the future. More for reading into a situation or person.

I don't use tarot cards: I use playing cards.
