Weight. It's something I've struggled with all my life. And yes, Lark and Brysing are bang on right when they say that exercise and healthy diet is the best way to go. But sometimes that's not enough, especially if you have complications like Pcod, thyroid, diabetes and so on. You need that extra push and sometimes even a prayer, especially if you want to avoid surgery or drugs.

Here's what works for me along with diet and exercise:

What you will need:
2 tsps Fenugreek seeds
2 tsps Coriander seeds
2 tsps Fennel seeds
2 tsps Barley seeds

What you need to do:
Boil the above ingredients in two glasses of water. Boil till the water evaporates to half a glass. Wait till it cools down and drink away.

I'm gonna try adding vinegar and cinnamon to this mixture and see if it helps

Apple cider vinegar tastes better but it doesn't matter really.

I do not mean to offend you, or upset you in any way, but since you posted a health related post, did you not expect answers regarding health, and not magick?

First off, the obvious is this isn't a spell, it's a health guide how to.

That aside, I want to really stress that not everyone should be doing this. Vinegar does indeed stimulate bile production by the liver that is kept within the gall bladder to be used to break down fatty foods, but stimulating bile production via the use of vinegar only effects the release of bile already within the gall bladder. Overstimulation can cause severe gall bladder contractions and result in pain similar to the feeling of releasing a gall stone (or kidney stone). On top of this, bile secretions also encourages enzyme secretions from the pancreas, and overworking the pancreas can cause vomiting and nausea.

When using regular white vinegar, what is actually happening is the acetic acids in the vinegar cause the body to produce proteins within the cells that break down fat (fat is a cell after all). In a sense, this is causing fat cellular death, which is why weight loss occurs. Apple Cider Vinegar breaks down proteins found in food instead of the proteins produced in the body, which stimulates the metabolism and burns fat. Cinnamon? It reduced inflammation within the body, and in this case, the stomach from being irritated by the sudden increase of biles and acids being dumped into it. Know what increased bile and acid causes? Ulcers and heartburn.

Sounds exciting, right? Yes, except this weight loss is not permanent and is the worse way to lose weight. When the body is suddenly flushed of fat, it panics. As much as we don't like it, fat is necessary and required, as fat is stored within the body to supply cells with food to burn when it needs to. If there is no fat, the cells start to eat muscle. The body will quickly do what it can to make sure that fat is replaced making this quick weight loss a quick return in fat. If one was to normally diet by eating healthier and getting active, then the weight loss would be slow and will allow the body to easily recover from the gradual loss of stored fat that doesn't cause unwanted stomach pain.

Anyone who decides to lose weight by taking any kind of food suppliment needs to see a doctor first. No one wants to deal with negative reprocussions for blindly following health advice off the internet. Even Dr. Oz, where this originated from, clarifies that everyone watching the show needs to consult a professional first before considering adding this to their diet regimine. If someone has a health problem they don't realize they have, this simple weight loss trick can become very dangerous.

The original post was asking about magic, and advising a spell/potion. What's your problem with that?

I think Andat's response was in reply to Rachel who seemed to be upset that some of the replies to the initial post about weight loss potions was advice on how to lose weight properly with or without magic.

Frankly I think any sort of recommendation for health management through magic should also be open to replies saying whether what has been proposed magically is safe and also possible. That is not only proper for these forums but also wise.
