Well, there is Newbie Central, and if people made use of the search option, it wouldn't really be so much of an issue. Not to mention, it would clear up a lot of the reposted/rediscussed/dead horse beating topics lol

As a Newbie, I only ask questions to things I can't physically find the answers to myself, through research and hard work. I won't bother anyone with what seems to be boring and mundane questions to some.

In our defense, as Newbies, I was under the impression that asking questions is how we learn. Getting information from others with higher experiences then our self's.

If I do happen to ask a question on a subject I know nothing about, I apologize in advance if I bore or tick those of you off that have been asked or had to explain something for the hundredth time. I am not out to flog a dead horse just learn:) Brightest Blessing X

I must also agree. Some knowledgeable people also think they have a right to rank down people because of their opinion on non-magical subjects as well. I honestly think this needs to come to an end.

GypsyRose,
I'm not the brightest bulb in the box. I do have experience. However there are those that I have had the honor to meet on this site that are way more Knowledgeable than me. (Shawn aka tiredofgaggs, and lark, and a many others. But my door is always open to you should you have a question. And I promise not to judge or laugh. And if I don't know the answer to your question then I will help you dig until we find it together. Then we will both have learned something new. I was a beginner at one point and someone reached out to me and helped me.Some seem to have forgotten that they too were beginners at somepoint.

I have learned from so many down the line and still, to this day am still learning. Please don't give up on this site or the people here. Yes, there is bad, but if you will take a little time and look for the good you will find it also.

Love and Light,
Annamare

Thank you for the kind words Annamare:) It is nice to know that there are people willing to teach and throw a bit of understanding our way (Newbies). Again with the 'labels'. That is all that I am looking for here. Until now I have done all my learning through reading, reading and... oh yea, more reading!

Although, It seems that there are so many beginners who seem to be missing that step, heading straight into the spell casting stage. Not really something I was prepared to do.

I thought long and hard about the road I want to travel and decided that the Solitary path was for me. I love it! However, I do feel that even when on a solitary path, I need to have contact with others who walk a similar path as well. Although, I do rather do this over the internet as apposed to 'real life'. It seems easier:)

You may find me taking you up on your offer at some point:) Brightest Blessing X

After reading all 46 posts on this forum, all I can say is wow. So many opinions so many different thoughts about rank and newcomers. To state my opinion about rank, it doesn't really matter. Its more like a title that a moderator gives you, showing that either you have knowledge or are idiotic. When someone who is knowledgeable but gets a bad rank, I personally want to know why. It seems like nowadays if you believe in something that SEEMS silly or unbelievable, you'll get destroyed. I have been criticised for my belief in Draconics and the Draconic Path. People would say get another path or your crazy but Its my passion. I don't believe that good people should be downsized for their personal beliefs. Now on the subject of newcomers - I have a strong dislike for the word Newbie - some may be experienced some eh not so much. I think that some newcomers probably need to get used to the site and should get guidance for a few days just to get them on the right track. For the people who believe in silly stuff, I would ignore them. Yelling at them gives them attention, and they might feed off the attention. I hope this post helps.

You know, I don't mind people asking questions either. In fact, I encourage it. I don't even mind the occasional question about fantasy stuff, even though I wish they would just look through the forums first. But when someone is so hard headed or wrapped up in their fantasy delusion that they won't listen, I have no use for them. I also have no use for the people that encourage them, saying that "anything is possible".

The first thing you should learn is discrimaination between what is real and what is fantasy. Also, you should learn what influences you really want to attract in your life. Unfortunately due to modern publishing and the internet, there is nothing to prevent someone from finding information, ready or not.

I wouldn't say that I'm knowledgable. But if I am, it is because I study A LOT, and I practice A LOT, and I am always trying to learn things of value. I don't waste my time dealing with things that are not real or don't support my growth and evolution. That includes interacting with people who are a waste of my time.

LVX,

Shawn.

Yesterday I got told that I only said stuff was impossible because I couldn't do it myself because anything is possible if you're powerful enough

I don't mind people who are new and in fact I encourage everyone to learn as we all had to start from the bottom but if you're refusing to stop being set in your closed minded ways then it's a bit too far

I've been one to answer questions of any nature but if you seek answers do not be supprised if the right answer isn't the one you had in mind

Dont get me wrong, I dont mind newbies asking questions. It doesnt bother me. However I am really sick of the same questions being asked over and over again, in new topics. When they could, like someone else pointed out, use the search option.

Or like Gypsy pointed out, do some research themselves. And the answers to some of the questions they ask, are really not that hard to find.
