You can be a Christian witch, but you cannot be a Christian Wiccan.
They are two entirely different religions.

There is actually a Castle Dracula...and the occult is associated with many paranormal things from my understanding.

I guess I should ultimately look to my imagination in order to become more acquainted with the magical world. I just thought it would be fun to be whisked away to a real life Hogwarts. Excuse me if I'm stepping on anyone's toes.

Conjuration does exist from what I've seen as well, I believe magic wands are used somewhat constructively.

Of course there is a castle dracula! The town of Whitby in Yorkshire depends on the tourist trade generated by the interest in the novel Dracula. As does Transylvania. Nevertheless, it is entirely fiction.

Also the sole purpose of a wand is to direct energy, which can also be done with your hand or finger. You cant zap anyone into a toad with a wand.

Harry Potter is great...for entertainment. But you cannot base knowledge of magick on a fictional story. Learn the real thing. Get the books and read them. Learn the difference. Once you know, you will know what we mean. Blessed Be...

You cannot physically conjure things into existance, and wands are not used in the same way they are in the "Harry Potter" series. Wands are tools, like any other tool that we use. You cannot fly around on a broomstick, you cannot obtain a house elf to clean things for you, and there are no schools of witchcraft and wizardry.

I suggest picking up some non-fantasy books on the actual craft if you'd like to know what magick really is, and not JK Rowling's fantasy world.

I was just so intrigued by the novel that I wanted to become more involved.

I wasn't trying to cause any harm.

Thank you very much to whoever posted the definition of religion; it greatly changed my views on existence in a more realistic way.

The HP books are a great works of fiction. That being said, they are doing wonders to open people up to other ideas. I do know of one group in the UK who did some magick classes for children that were based on HP. I don't know a lot about it. One of my friends in the Servants of the Light told me about it. Haven't seen any of the curriculum myself.

Remember, that the connection to the spiritual world is through the unconscious mind. The unconscious commuicates with images, symbols and feelings. If you want to take the time and energy of laying the groundwork for using Harry Potter as that symbolism, then go for it. It's going to be a lot harder than using a symbolic system that already has energy put into it, such as the Egyptian gods, but it can be done.

Kinda makes you wonder... Did the gods make man, or did man make the gods? Hmmmm...

LVX,

Shawn.
