I remember when I first started I was really scared to tell my parents. Wicca is one of those things that is very misunderstood, people think its evil when its really a quite beautiful thing.

What I did, was gather the information I learned and put them into a little report like thing to explain what Wicca is then I gave it to my parents to read.
At first, they were worried and maybe even scared because they didn't understand it, but once they read about it they accepted it and now are very supportive with my religion.

Its a very, very hard thing to come out, so take your time. You don't need to rush it, if you explain it to them then they should be happy that you're making such a good step in life here and how much you will benefit from it. I wish you the best of luck

Is the need of supplies the only reason why you wish to tell them? Perhaps make the supplies seem normal and not suspicious. For example, you buy a candle because "it smells nice" or "it would be a good decoration". Perhaps even go as far as to say "it reminds me of Jesus."

I like Pyrr's idea. Buy candles because they "smell good" buy crystals because they are "pretty rocks" so on and so forth. I know what you mean about being afraid to tell your parents and if theyre anything like mine were growing up, they will hear none of it as soon as wicca or the word witch comes out of your mouth. Me I probably would have ended up on the floor if i told my strict christian parents I was interested in Wicca. Good luck.

Before you decide you really want to commit to this, I'm going to advise you do the same thing I was advised (and was the norm before). Spend a year or as long as you can bear doing nothing but reading and studying, don't practice until you know as much as you feel you can absorb and still feel confident in your decision... it could do everything from change the path you want to follow to help you decide if this is really for you.
Not to scare you away or anything, but as a choice closely tied to our spiritual lives. I hate to see these paths used as a form of menial entertainment or a form of game.

I've heard of websites that help out with "coming out of the broom closest", so I'd look up some of those if I were you. Also, I would suggest finding some information on Christian magic and Christian wiccans. I'm not suggesting you take that up, but you could probably use those as examples to help your parents understand that magic is subjective.
