There are so many words, - "witch, pagan, satanist, christian, 12 yr old, 60 yr old, gay, black, purple, woman, republican...." all words which, when used, serve to seperate us from each other.

What we all are, is Humans. Being. :)

YES!!! Thank you! I get this type of thing about everything! Whether I'm talking about relationships, love, money, religoun, any knowlegde at all, people always say "You don't know what your talking about! Your just a teenager and you haven't been on this Earth long enough to know what your talking about!" Everyday, especially if they disagree with what I'm telling them! It's like there offended that a teenager might actually be more knowledgble in a topic then them! I even was talking to a family friend and she brought up the topic of religoun and reincarnation etc. and like any other normal person would, I gave my opinion on the matter and made credible sources of why I thought that way; and guess what?! She literally laughed in my face and told my mother "Haha! Do you hear your daughter!?" As if I was a 6 yr. old that was explaining were she thought babies came from to an adult! It severally irrates me to no end when I'm judged for my age whether it's online or in real life. People hear the word "teenager" and automatically think I'm some dumb, niaive kid that doesn't know what lifes even about... How I see it, either some up the most intelligent speech, comeback or answer you can think of to leave them speechless or just ignore them. We know what we know and thats all that matters! :)

If people are knowledgable on here then perhaps they might consider shareing some of there knowledge with the rest of us. Add to the posts and articles. Guide those that need it. There are so many on here that say they need a teacher the forums are filled with them. Teach. Don't just boast and say that you know this and that. I don't have children but I know those that do and they learn all the time from their kids so it at least for me is not a problem to learn from a young one and I think that most on here feel the same way. Just please try to keep it to within the bounds of normal logic and reason and don't try to tackle the impossable in one leap and a half bound. Just saying.

The above statement is based on my observation that there are many who need to learn but few who are willing to teach. If you are not willing to teach then saying that you know this and that is done just for the sake of showing otheres and that is in my opinion boasting. Just my opinion and please no offesnse to anyone.

I am often called fluffy when I am talking to adults who, at first, thought that I was an adult after I tell them my age. After I tell them how long I have been practicing they continue the ridicule. I have been practicing for 8 years because my grandfather had taught me magic and I continued practicing after he died but often times people say that that is not possible. I joined this site when I was twelve and I have learned that with some people it is ok for you to tell your age because it will not change their opinion of you. But with others it may be best for you not to tell them and let them think that you are an adult so that they can take you seriously. By the way, I too am only 15, close to 16.

@To all those that feel underestimated because you are a teenage practioner

Most teens are underestimated , mainly because , from my point of view , is that they are so young..and people would naturally tend to assume that you have less knowledge and experience.

Teens i personally find , desire to come into magick for all those "Flashy" reasons that seem cool to them , such as trying to do kinesis that does not work , wanting to undergo transformation and etc. Some of the people on this site would know how irratatable that feels.

And even if you know and realize that such things are impossible , steer clear of them and steady cultivate your knowledge through your studies , when you ask something like how to summon any being , people would naturally wonder whether you are coming into this for entirely the appopriate reasons and not for how interesting and flashy it seems.

Another reason that teens are not held in a particularly extremely high regard in this community is because of the limited amount of time they have spent studying so far.

Some younger ones on this site claim to have 8-10 years of experience in magick.

But , i myself find the notion quite unconcievable that they have started practicing seriously and in depth since around the age of 6 to 8.

I personally cannot see a child doing things like calling the watchtowers , working in a circle etc. Even if you move on to other fields of study such as healing , divination , energy maniuplation..I still find it hard to take the image of a young child actively practicing the above stated skills on another. And much less be ready to learn them in the first place.

Your family may have taught you in the art , but i can only see how limited on what you have learnt then.

Let's take this anology for example , you attend preschool and kindergarden , both which are not neccasary and is entirely optional , but yet , in the first year of primary/elementary school , you would have covered all of which you have learnt in a matter of a few weeks.

This represents that though you have spent years learning something when you are younger , it can nicely be summed up in a few weeks when you are older.

So in plain terms , what you have learnt in several younger years is equivalant to quite a fair bit less in value.

If a young child studies at such a young age with the help of a guide , I can only see it as one learning in a on and off manner , and if one is to total up the time that the particular child was being taught , it would not have amounted to a long period of time.

That is what i personally feel though. I have quite a bit of trouble writing down my thoughts on the issue , as i find it a little difficult to word appopriately , but i hope my point has been conveyed accross.

I agree with the underestimation. Ignorance, I find, can stem from anywhere. No one can really know it all. For instance, I knew a wiccan guy who was fairly good, except Ouija boards scared him just because he thought they were only 'evil'. I who was much younger, would calmly say "I've done it. Sometimes you get bad ones and sometimes you get good ones." And he just called me too young and to much of a newbie to understand.

I greatly agree with you!!! i clearly state in my bio, that just because im young, dosnt mean im a fluffy!!! i think more of the adults on this website need to nurture our generation, especially the ones who DO belive in the vampire, werewolf stuff, they need to educate us/them, instead of slamming us/them down for something that is thought to be a ligitiment question ect. Thankyou for bringing this issue to public attention!
Blessed Be!

More adults do need to be open minded and remember how old they were when they first started. They sure were not adult when they very first started.
