I just want to know of an active coven. I've been in the craft for 20yrs now but the coven's I've seen here aren't active, if any-one know's of a active coven that'll let me join, I'd be so grateful. Thanks for all your comments. Blessed be!

Go to the covens list, look at the individual covens priest and priestess. See when they last logged in. Mail them, mail the council/members, and ask about activity. I think suggesting a coven to you would be bias. Individuals have different thins they want out of a coven.

Also, Wiccans comment was fine. She probably deleted her own account.

Yes I thought her comment was fine, wonder why she left? As she's been her for 2 years. Thanks I'll check the coven you've suggested then.

A lot of the covens teach the basics of what you need to know. You should try looking through the groups on the site and find one that you think can give you what you are looking for. Just make sure the coven leaders and members are active.

Wicca for Beginners: Fundamentals of Philosophy & Practice, this is a good book and it might help you out too. I posted the web address to it down below. You get get it at amazon.com for a good price. When you put it in the search bar make sure you delete any spaces in it before you do a search on it.

Sometimes one needs to try out different covens to find the right fit for them. Don't get discouraged if you join a few different covens and find they are not offering what you seek or they are not the right fit for you. Be sure to read all the information you can about a coven as well as contacting the leaders to ascertain if it is even worth trying them out. Be proactive in your search don't expect a coven or other people to spoon feed you all the information you need.

The site store also offers many beginner books on different aspects of the the craft/magic.

i know what you mean, i've jumped around from coven to coven for a few years, i'd occasionally post on the forums, though nothing of interest was being discussed, i had to learn everything myself by reading the rituals.

i know of a few covens that have as part of their rules you need to post on the forum 'x' amount of times a month to still be in the group, but like i said above, most people would post something silly and everyone would comment to make sure they aren't kicked out. i run a few groups [not magic related mind] on other sites, two book clubs [one online one off] and organize my covens circles. from what i've gathered from all that experience, no matter how many good idea's you have, and how much effort you put in, if everyone else is lazy or 'goes with the flow' you'll burn out and stop caring as well.

personally in terms of active forums, spellcasters is one of the better ones, but it's pretty much 95% asking questions, 5% answering, so if you ask something those 5% don't know about, you'll be out of luck. i actually really liked Air Element, and i've spoken with the high priest for The Legion of Light and Dark and it sounds like they're very good too with information and helping people. if i wasn't waiting on another coven i'd join it to look around. you might end up jumping around from coven to coven though gaining knowledge. personally it's the best method for me.

keep in mind though coven's aren't that important. you have the forums and the articles here, and plenty of books to choose from offline. i didn't even join a coven for the first four years on SoM, and i only did that because it was a rule to join Dragon Magick.
