That is your belief, that there is a waiting period. Under my opinion, the waiting period is optional according to the person. Some people just decide to stay in Summerland forever, because there are no limitations. Others strive for the perfect spirit to ascend into what I will call "Heaven" just for familiarity.

Embrace ...when I have ever said that the waiting period was compulsory ? It was always the choice of the spirit . The waiting period is the spirit's own choice and they reincarnate if they wish .

I was simply stating that some choose not to undergo rebirth :/

The one constant in all things is our spirit. It exists on all planes. So here's a thought. What if we started as spirit and being put here or in an under world (if there is one) are a form of punishment or designed to teach us lessons. So our death here would be like going home for awhile. Now we all have a connection with that place, with our spirit. Sooo it would be logical to assume that that connection is needed to help us exist. Hence Necromancy. Just a wild thought.

No need to become defensive. Understand that with this website, when you go to reply on a topic, you can only see the first post. (From what I've noticed, anyways) So, I was replying from what I thought I remembered from your post. Do pardon if I simply stated what you had said, or otherwise attacked your word.

The thing with this kind of question is that you'll get multiple different opinions; according to experience, religion, and where the person lives.

Sorry, Embrace but you are acting aggressively. As I understood from all stated posts, kind regards and may spirits bless your intention

Pardon myself, please;; I really do not mean to come out as aggressive. (And this is why I prefer physical contact versus the internet... You cannot tell how the person is stating the words, expression, body language...)

Honest to every truth, I do not wish to cause disarray.

I have often pondered the same thing. That was a very good point. You seem very wise.

simple, pagans accept different views lol kidding.

myself, i believe in a few things. for starters, i believe your soul goes to Summerland to relax and wait until it's ready to be reincarnated. if the person dies in a horrible way, or feels like it wasn't their time, or like in Ghost they just choose to not cross over just yet, they become a spirit that wanders the earth doing whatever for a bit. kind of like Summerland, but you get to torment your best friend as a ghost [or maybe that's just was my friends and i are planning.] the final thing is, people [animals, plants, whatever you're reborn as] are born either random, or purpose. if you're born under purpose, you're born for a reason, you will live to a ripe old age and keep being reborn like that until your spirit fulfills that purpose. once you've done that, you're born under random, people who are killed in tragic circumstance. kind of sad, but i fell it makes sense. granted, i'm not trying to say a random spirit is worthless, maybe they were suppose to be in your life for a reason, or maybe they fulfill their purpose early in that life so they die sooner.

also heard this story once that i found nice about a man who died and went heaven only to be told he was retuning to earth. when he asked why he was told he had not lived every possible life, rich, poor, sick, healthy, smart dumb, man, woman, black white and so on. until he had lived every life, his soul could not appreciate heaven. i like that idea too.

winded, but that's how i see it, we get reincarnated, but our soul can sometimes be stuck here.

@embrace , i guess i shouldn't have got a bit defensive..sorry. i got a little miffed ealiear that's all.

Anyway , to the thread starter , i doubt that one could ever fully answer that question , as people from different cultures and different regions have different views on the afterlife. Although some believe in reincarnation , people from different cultures also have different views on the proccess. where some believing one reincarnates immediately upon death or wether there is a resting place or ..anything basically.

the main thing is that they both can coexist on some level , which is still unknown to us.

You can reincarnate if the Gods offer you that and by no other way, as for Necromancy you can only effect those in hell...
