it could but it comes down to the magical properties of said item. for instance made from paper, you'd need to charge it with your own energy, but it can easily be damaged, resulting in bad things. like mentioned above, it's not a toy, it's easily made though, and many treat it as a toy, but spirits are attracted to the board, damaging it would be a bad thing. wood has magical properties, using a wood with spiritual or protective qualities would be better since you won't have to put in so much energy.

metals, not too sure on though, and stone is the same. though certain stones and crystals have energy in them for spiritual purposes so it could work, just be sure the planchette can slide. my friend bought this gorgeous one made of stone with a glass top. it's quite unique imo it's held up slightly by faeries and it's in Gothic lettering. all stone and glass like i said, doesn't really work, we tried many different things but the planchette couldn't move. either because the letters were so hard to read, or because the planchette was also glass and couldn't slide well. so it's more of a show piece than a tool, we purified it and it sits on a shelf in her place.

they are mostly made of wood, but you can make them out of carboard you can make them out of paper, but they need to be big enough so the spirits that are talking to you can see the letters on the board. Well for me i advise you to buy one its so much easeir.

also try to use 2 white candles it contatcts them better (well it does for me).

Dont be disrespectfull by saying to spirit "if theres anyone here move an object" thats just wrong.

You might want to say "is there a spirit here" waite like 1 minute and if it does not answer try again. You might need to keep using one to get the hang of working with the spirits.

after your done using the ouija board say good bye and move your planchetter or what ever you are using over to good bye on the ouija baord.

need anymore help mail me, id be glad to help.

blessed be

magick.

while it's easier to buy over make, you need to spend some time purifying and charging it. i've made my own board [just because] but i use one i bought for 10$. my coven spent hours charging it with our energy so it. the one i made, i never had to really charge because my energy was already in it. so there's pro's and cons to each really.

second, as Magic pointed out, while candles might be better [though i've never noticed much of a difference] and you should greet the spirits with something like 'is there a spirit who wishes to talk?' or something along those lines. once you get to know the spirit you can speak to it how you feel. [when we speak with Rori it's very informal, but he only likes give yes and no answers] when you're meeting them, since you don't want to offend them, choose your words carefully. once my friend got mad at a spirit always returning to the letter 'D' [if memory serves] and she cursed it out. the planchette stopped dead and we had to spend the next half hour apologizing like crazy, and my friend still got hurt. [nothing too bad, it slap her arm, but still.]

Hmm what's the big deal about ouija boards anyway? It's not like they can actually cause paranormal experiences. I believe that it's not real. It's just all in your head.
