I'm almost seventeen and have been practicing Wicca for two years. My parents don't know and I have don't have any intention on telling them at the moment.

When I used to practice, I eventually confessed but my mom already knew I was heading towards the direction. She found out before I could admit it. My parents weren't shocked but they believe that magick only makes people go psychiotic. They aren't supportive so I stopped.

That's harsh. If my mom called me that I would be devastated. My dad might just have a long talk with me.

firstly to waterwitch- you are way too young to be here if you are 10. Just saying- correct me if i got that wrong.

Anyways, I am 13, and have been studying magick and such since 12 and 3/4 years old. My mum and dad don't know about it and i too have no wish to tell them :S I am going to wait until i know exactly what i am doing and i am confident with my work and, more importantly, myself.

Bright Blessings,
Willow

I'm like that too. I don't really want to tell them until I learn more about this craft and myself

my mom was completely fine with it. she thought it was a phase, but after a year, seeing what it was about and reading a book i gave her, she knew it was going to be permanent.

my dad on the other hand, my sister backed me into a corner. we were eating dinner and eventually the topic turned to Halloween, my sister said i was taking the day off and he asked why. i said it was a religious holiday, he said it wasn't. then my sister laughed and said i wasn't christian. so i was forced to say i converted to wicca. luckily my dad had no clue until i said 'witchcraft' he got really pissed off and stormed away. didn't speak to me for the rest of the night. the next day he acted like nothing happened.

Well, I have a slightly different experience. I was always interested but I didn't study anything while living in my parents house, because they did not approve. I do believe in respecting parents and elders, and did not go against their wishes. However, there were things they were ok with, such as meditation, study of different religions and cultures, etc.

After I moved out I began to study magic in earnest. Now, I am not Wiccan, but I wouldn't be considered Christian either. They were less than enthused. 23 years later, they have accepted me for who I am and realize, I think, that I am not in some kind of cult or going to go Mansionfamily on anyone.

As a side note, I have a 19 year old son. He has always been aware of my beliefs and practices. His mother (We are no longer together, and have not been since he was a young child.) raised him Christian. So, he does not follow the same beliefs that I do. He is open to hearing about them though, and we do have long discussions about them as I educate him about what Christ really taught. As a parent, I can say that while I may not approve of what my son does, he is still my son and that will never change. I may get mad, I may not approve, but I will always love him. I can not imagine any parent not feeling the same. Now, they may not be able to show it in the best way, but that is another discussion.
