Spell Help

I'm creating a cleansing spell that involves herbs but I'm having trouble with how to use them in the spell. Should i burn them? Make them into liquid? I've think I'd try to put them into the spell by using an element. Like burning them and then using the smoke? Or mixing them into water and then sprinkling the water around the house? But i don't know which element would be best. I've tried looking up which Element would best represent bringing positive energy into a house, bringing protection and dispersing the negative but honestly I'm not the best researcher. Haha :p.

And finally to the question. Would have a suggestion to what i could do to the herbs?

Burning sounds good to me. It's your choice, do what feels right to you.

You could burn them, or grind them to a powder and blow or grow them around the affected areas.

And how can a plant banish a spirit or cleanse a place anyway?

My first thought was to burn them to but I'm trying to make all the spell in connection with each other. I've looked at some more stuff and i think water would be the best because it's more of a protection element and represents what i want the atmosphere to be more like. But burning might be easier and more smart. But thanks for the help everyone!

Yes, burn them inside the space/house you are cleaning. You can also mix them with water and sprinkle them like you said. It's up to you not me. There is no better method then this nor that beacuse at the end it's leading to the same thing. It's up to your liking.

The idea of using herbs in magick stems from the belief that every herb has a spirit. And each type of herb's spirit is good at something different. When burning them, we release the spirit into the air. When placing them into water oil alcohol or vinegar, we are empowering the liquid with that spirit. Don't see "spirit" like our spirits with souls. In this case it is "living energy".

Like in herbal healing, when putting herbs into liquid, its best to let them sit in a dark cool place for at least three days. There is also the choice of grinding them in a mortar and pestle and using them as a powder to sprinkle.

One of my favorite ways to use herbs is by rolling my oil annointed candle into the ground or chopped herb before lighting it. Be sure to use fat candles like votives, because oil and flame don't mix!

Or you could boil them, not only will it make your house smell great, but it uses all 4 elements.
