there's no need for this new phrase because necromancy already covers the process of working with "death energy".

Chimera, that would be like saying we don't need different words for "cat" and "dog" just because some people are too stupid to tell the difference. "Necromancy" only means working with death energy to those who study video games and anime as their primary source of magical information.

I never stated that necromancy meant strictly working with death energy chironjackel. I said that it already covered that part therefore the new phrase was not needed.

And I'm trying to say, no, it does not cover working with death energy. Look up the suffix of "-mancy."

I agree that the term necromancy is applied for communication with deceased and doing divination via this connection .Nowhere within this definition is mentioned death energy .In general i think we do need separate term when it comes to death energy .Otherwise the practicioner is doomed to explain hours what is he talking about and not everyone has the time or nerves to do so .

Again, I have never heard of a respected (key word there) magician refer to non-mantic death workings as necromancy. That usage of the term is about as respected and used among knowledgable practitioners as "bending" elements.
