Culture is one thing, it's a way of life. Religion is a stystem group of beliefs and ideas shared by people. Religion can be very strict, and sometimes so straightfoward. We should tear the religion label off of the bashing soup can in the cupboard of SoM.

Believe me, culture can be just as strict as religion. Living both an American culture with an Asian culture is difficult for me and have been all my life. In my culture, we have to do things in a certain way that is not at all American; our values are so strict that there have been times when I wished I wasn't Asian, but that was when I was younger. I can understand the technically between the two differences and I'm not trying to be bias, but overall to me they are both the same. They both have beliefs and moral values.

Culture is something your born into, sure you can change but it never goes away, it becomes habit. Religion you can be born into but can change at any time, it's easier and quite frequently done.

Tolerance is not something you can ask for and expect, but something you teach through example.

while tolerance would be nice, it cannot be achieved since some people are raised to hate, or change, those who are different because there's something wrong with the person. if you hope for tolerance on the internet, allow me to laugh until my sides hurt. it drives me nuts when people are stubborn, or when people argue and won't let the other speak, but there's no way to change a person like that, so avoid it, or accept it, either way, that's the only outcome in favour of tolerance.
