i know the forums are open, and free, even to the wanabe vamps and the like... but heres some advice, dont go comanding things of life, in the names of things u do not know. u know inside there is a calling, saying are u a freakin fool? the strongest of the strong need no help, they realize they came with the means. hoodoo is dark in its nature. havent u heard of haunting were voodoo and hoodoo were practiced? they bring about darkness, via the darkness. when u exert energy, where does it realy go? around u...sometimes it follows u. before u wonder what ur getting out of it, please try to understand what u may leave behind, or, take with u.. whats the use of courage if u put it in the wrong place? my advice ina difrent format; if u have the courage to try hoodoo, why not find the courage to take ur life as is? it cannot be that bad..ur nor a starveing child in africa..were hoodoo started..

Oh i forgot one book that I have that was very useful, not on the subject itself but it mentions a fair amount of the Loa in it and has been quite useful.

Thank you MentisAmor and I really appreciate the one that talks about the Loa cause I'm really interested in learning about them. Thank you once again.

Your welcome CreepyDoll glad I could help, this is by no means a full list of books by the way, just the ones I own at the moment and have found good information in.

Oh and by the way if you do a search on this site there is a woman named LdyGry, she doesnt take students but her blog has a lot of information on it as well.

firstly hoodoo didn't start in africa there are many religious pantheons of similiar pagan african gods which when carried by slaves to the carribean america and southern america became religiouns such as vodoun santeria obeah e.t.c these are religions much like wicca is with gods who are both dark and light hoodoo is the predominantly african american equivalent of what most wiccans would consider kitchen or green witchery it involves alot of prayers charms and herbs unlike vodun which requires initation and sacrafice neither is dark like all magic power is deemed dark or liugth by its use by those who use it. If any commentary should be given toward certain practices of magic they should be well informed.
