The power of the mind is great! It can cause you to act, feel, and think in different ways, but it cannot alter your physical being. So you may be causing yourself to act, feel, and think as you would believe a merman would, but your body will never change. It may be best to begin reversing whatever focus you have though, because otherwise you may wind up in a mental institution (I'm not kidding or being mean). As I said, the mind is a powerful thing. Suggestion is all that is needed for it to act against your will. You need to be in control, not let it control you.

It is highly unlikely that you are physically transforming into a mer, even at my MOST open-minded I can't imagine a half-fish human anywhere but a laboratory in Atlantis (I do doubt this of course). Much more likely is that you are a mer on the astral plane. Sylvia Brown (though she uses different terms than we do) describes how many people have a connection to certain magical creatures, like the mer, that manifests in some of their desires and behaviors. In her book Secrets and Mysteries of the World (complied from conversations with her spirit guide) she describes mermaids as existing on what most of us call the astral plane and suggests that the myth originates mostly from dolphins, which she believes were human at one time but were transformed as a way of surviving the destruction of Atlantis. I don't consider any of this fact at the moment, but I do recommend the book and suggest you look up anything else she's written on the mer.

technicaly, Mer, is a term used to describe elf-kind,(or is that just in games?) anyway, yes, it is highly unlikely you are turning, or will turn into a mermaid, or, in your case, merman.
however, that doesnot mean, that thease creatures do not exist, really, one must have a more open mind on this site :P

I wouldn't be surprised if someone looked at your aura/astral form and saw a fish tail. There is (this is strictly an analogy) a TV show called Grimm were all the "magical creatures" are actually humans that shapeshift into their creature form during an adrenaline rush. This show is by no means accurate in any way, shape, or form, but it's an interesting idea that sounds a bit similar to the appearance of a person's astral form.

As amazing as it would be, I don't think hissing and tripping makes you a mermaid.
