hai, summer. i have same situation like u. so i understand what u feeling. I start by having some very simple items, which makes the family or the people around me did not suspect such as words, thoughts, writing, imagination, paper, pens, candles, jewelery (such as pendants, bracelets or necklaces, which I could make it as Amulet, Talisman, etc).
make and think of something simple. if you really need a special item, the item that you have keep hidden and locked in place so that your family can not see it.
same as it has been said by these people in this forum.
all the supplies I have are things I have found or came across and "just felt right" to use. My wand is a deformed stick I found in the woods and put clear coat on it, oils like olive oil and others in the kitchen work to. I get the cheap little tea light candles, even birthday candles would work. My stones are ones I have found in my yard, they are not magical stones but they were beautiful or out of the ordinary so I picked them up and I use them how ever I have need of. They are not crystals or quartz but they work because its what I want. You don't have to have a magical shop, you already have one out side, nature. Your power comes from within you, not the items you have.

I agree with everyone else use what you have around you, but the only way your ever gonna get going with magick is if you learn the basics. So go to the search engine and type basics there an then learn from that as far as the items you may need well not all items need material items an as for the ones that do go outside or around your house an find what pulls you in because the real magick is in you an you don't always have to go by the seeing is believing. Last thing i want to say is you don't need your own personal mentor all you have to do is start a forum again like you started this one an look how many mentors you got this quick. We are all mentors an so are you because you never know maybe in a week or month someone is gonna ask the same question, but this time you can mentor them on what to do.

like everyone has said you don't have to buy supplies. back during the burning times when we had to hide, or back even further when we lived far away from the nearest town, we didn't have any shops. start an herb garden, a book of shadows is just a simple notebook you write your knowledge into. a wand or staff can be made from a branch. basically, you can make everything if you're skilled/determined enough. [not sure if you weld, but you could even make your athame] it's actually better if you make your own stuff, since you're charging it with your energy. blessed be.
