About the Pentacle.

How do you "educate the ignorant" by making up your own "truth"? If you're going to make up your own meaning, you should make your own symbol. A symbol's power is within its history and the belief of those who used it that connects everything within its image. Its like the relationship between a name and the person or thing it belongs to. Sure you could call a cat a dog, but everyone else will recognize it as a cat. But "dog" is just a name, like a pentagram is just a star. Can I educate the ignorant by calling all cats dogs?

If you don't accept a symbol's history, that's up to you, but when a symbol loses it's historical use, it's just lines and shapes and our own minds. Nothing wrong with that, but it isn't the point of symbolism. Symbolism is meant to convey something and to tap into the power, force, or deity that it represents.
