I agree with all of you. The reason I want to start with the High Priestess Council is to give it a try and see if we succeed. Help each other out. I come I am from lodi California and yes freedom of religion, but I'm in a small town. As the only High Priestess here you can imagine all the pressure on me. If we help each other out we'll have more of a chance to succeed not just for ourselves but for the sake of the Coven. Blessed Be

The more support and responses I get from the High Priestesses on this site the better the chances to start the High Priestess Council. So please show support. Blessed Be.

The Council has not yet been made but with the help and support of more High Priestesses, when the time is right we'll start it .

One of the places where those of us are High Priestesses in a coven that is part of an established Tradition is that we can always go to those in our up-line for advice and help when we are having problems. For instance, I have three covens where the High Priestesses come to me for advice, and if I need advice I can always call up the retired HPS who trained me.

That isn't always available to those who aren't part of a Trad. Something that I recommend when I am teaching others about being a HPS is that they build a network in their local area of High Priestesses where they can share ideas, concerns and problems. Doing this is also open to its own problems when the local groups are at odds with each other. And of course one does not want to air dirty coven laundry to those outside the coven.

If one does not have a local network, then I think having an on-line group who are willing to share experience and advice is the next best thing. I might rethink calling it a "Council" because that sort of implies that it would have some degree of authority over the member individuals...and we're too disparate a herd of cats to think much of that. Perhaps something more neutral such as a "High Priestess's Support Group" would be more in tune with the goals of the group and less inclined to put others off from joining.

Very true and a High Priestess Support Group does sound good because the name says it all. What I'm trying to achieve is a support group for us High Priestesses who need or just want backup.

While Lark has a very valid point perhaps "Support Group" to this day and age, will make it sound a bit like a group for mentally collapsed High Priestesses who have a thing for using too much hallucinogens.

Just giving my two sense worth. Anyway, I would also like if you kept me updated on where you're taking this, carrying out this idea really could be beneficial.

I've only been able to get to this recently, and I honestly like the idea. It seems a bit elitist because of only including High Priestesses, but I can understand why you started there since many of the covens on this site have a stronger female leader or only female leaders.
