Sounds like a wonderful idea!! If you do that, you might even gain some respect from the Other Side!

I think that's a great idea. The spirits would love it. You might also when you go up to the graves, try to talk to them. Even if you can't hear them, or they can't hear you I think the families of the forgotten and the spirits would really appreciate it.

Reverence for one's ancestors related by blood or not is a wonderful idea.
