No, I wouldn't say astral projection is dangerous if you know what you're doing. Also, if you feel better this way, purify your sacred space, get your shields up, pray to your God/ Gods, and wear something protective, like a protective amulet. Have no fear when you astral project, because your thoughts become.. things on the astral planes, literally. Relax, chill, get rid of your fear, and go for it. Besides, should anything happen, you'll just be back in your body. So, just enjoy the experience :)

Practice meditation before attempting it. From what I have learned, being able to have a clear, focused mind makes astral projection easier and that is one of the things meditation does for you.

In my experience, I wouldn't say its scary, just surprising.
I've been astral projecting since i was 11 but only 1 year ago, was i astral projecting conciously and on purpose. the other times it was "by accident".
Its a weird sensation being separated from your physical body but its easy to get used to.
You do have to experience it for yourself because everyone percieves the astral plane differently. Exampple: me and my sister tried to astral project in the same place but we both described the room very differently (the furniture was re-arranged, the door on the other side of the room, no loghts on for me, all the lights on for her)
When i astral project uncociously or "by accident" as i say, im always flying in a storm to the hut where Hagrid first met Harry in Harry Potter. Weird, i know. But then, the surprise and exitement of astral projecting wakes me up.

(When preparing to astral project, always put fragile and breakable items out of the way because sometimes if you wake up before you want to because of a loud noise in the physical plane, you can wake with a jolt... possibly smashing a glass of water on your laptop and phone with your arm, causing the smoke alarm to go off and everyone run out of the house screaming in the middle of the night..... in my personal experience LOL :)

It's not scary unless you imagine it to be. If you think about a giant spider on the ceiling ready to attack, it will be there.
because YOU put it there with your imagination. You control what happens in the astral plane with your imagination. Think about where you want to go before you project. Also as a "Just In Case" if your imagination runs away with you and you create something scary, I always have something nice, or that'll make me laugh that I can transform it into. Eg: i have a deadly fear of spiders so if i imagine one up, i turn it into my faveourite animal which is a wolf and then chat to it.

Sorry that its quite long but I cant shut up once i get going lol )0( Blessed Be

Depending on what you believe, the astral plane is the plane to which all spirits move to after death, when departing the physical body. It is, however, possible to depart the body temporarily, in trance or during sleep, and visit the astral plane. This is know as “astral projection.” We know that from science that matter is composed of atoms vibrating at certain frequencies. I view the universe as planes divided by these vibrations, each plane vibrating at a different frequency.
The physical body has a duplicate body which is the most sensitive. This is known as the “astral body” or “etheric double.” On the astral plane, our astral bodies can move with the speed of thought: to think of another location is to immediately be in that location. Should the astral body be far from its physical counterpart at a moment when the physical body is disturbed-by a sudden sound or contact-then the astral body returns, at the speed of thought. This isn’t a far fetched concept, when one considers the radio waves move at the speed of light, or 186,000 miles per second, the equivalent of traveling around the world 450 times in one minute!
The appearance of ghosts can also be attributed to the astral projection in some instances. When the apparent ghost of someone who is known to be still alive is seen, then the most obvious explanation would seem to be that it is actually the astral body of the person that has become visible. The secondary figure body of such bilocation is know as Jüdel, Doppelgänger (German), fylgia (Norway), KamaRupa (Hindu), fetch, fye, or waft (Britain). The astral plane is also home to the spirits of those who have died. A ghost therefore more usually the astral body of such a dead person, made visible to those on the earth plane.
The marked difference between the astral bodies of the dead and the living is the fact that the living have a connection between their astral selves and their physical selves. This is a very fine and infinitely elastic connection that is broken only at death. In popular fiction it is intimated that “evil entities” can sever the connection of the astral body from the physical body causing death. Apart from the improbability of this theory, should any attempt be made to interfere with the connection it would only result in the astral body being immediately returned to the physical, so such an “astral murder” could not be committed.

I don't understand why a 6mo old post just came up again, but...I would like to say that my husband and I have journeyed together a number of times and each time we have experienced the same things. The only difference was color, but everything else matched up in perfect detail. We usually touch hands when projecting together or lay directly next to one another in order to keep a strong link.

I began to AP when I was 14. If you aren't seeing the same things or if it is very different for you than for someone else, than one person or both is preconceiving what they will see, causing themselves to see what their mind expects to. And/Or they are performing a trance induced visualization and have not truly left their body.

if you have any fears about it ...it will never happen willingly.fear is controlled by the ego and the ego says you can't leave your body. its what keeps us from getting hurt.have you read any books on this subject?there is really, just alot of techniques from books.its hard to describe something we can't fathom.the more you realize that your spirit is you and your body is just a vehicle, the spirit rides in...the easier things are to do spiritually. i have been reading books and researching alot on astral techniques.some don't work for you and some will, but release the fear or it won't ever happen willingly.....
are you good at focusing?if not, work on that first.if your a scatter brain and nothing focuses ever.you are going to have a hard time meditating even.it takes practice.
a gemstone called hematite has helped me from scatter braining....after a while you wont need it at all,but its a comfort to have hematite.good luck and if you ever need help meditating or focusing...i'm here.
love and light to you.
