Not necessarily.
Sense when did ChandiKitty say that only those Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, or Transexual can join?
Do understand that just because a coven has a particular subject, does not mean that only those subject to a lifestyle including that subject can join.

I've joined covens of specific topics that I do not necessarily believe, but to rather learn of the belief system or whatever the subject is. I love furthering my knowledge of the world around me, and I do not feel that a coven of this nature is excluding people like me.

If it is, forgive my insolence, but I do think that it's the founders' call to make that decision.

Im gay myself and although its a good idea for the community to unite so to speak but why all just be in one coven i think its best to be intergrated in with the whole site, if all Glbt's were all in one place it would be sexuality Apartheid

Well, that's the thing Merlin, many of those on this site do have different orientations, and are in different places. I, for one, do, and I don't care what anyone else is.

The issue with the idea of a separate coven based on different orientations has been brought up previously, and I honestly agree with it. It'd be like what Malcolm X and Black Power wanted, separation that somehow was supposed to make people equal...which in my personal view doesn't really make that much sense.

Also another issue with it is that some of those homophobic people on this site may decide to outright attack the members of the coven (sorry for the double post, I just thought of this). The members of the coven may also become targets for trolls (people who are out to get enjoyment by causing chaos and being nasty to members on this site).

I'd like to see the serious members of this site as less targets then they already are.

Personally 'm having a hard time understanding the need for such a Coven on this site or any other. As this is not a dating site, and magick doesn't work differently for those of different sexual orientations. So personally I don't see where any one person's or a group's sexual preference matters on this site.

Decades ago in the United States there were separate bathrooms, buses, water fountains, schools, etc for white folk and colored folk. People died fighting for social equality. Now that we have it there seems to be a rise to bring the separation back except through the difference of sexual orientation. Currently we all share the same bathrooms, taxi cabs, schools, etc. Now it seems that we should allot separate Covens, and facilities for those of a different sexual orientation? What for?

I keep hearing Gay rights, Bi rights...are we going to start adding "Straight rights" as well? Or should we just stick to the "People's rights"?

Bottom line this is a Magick site, where people who choose to practice and learn about the many paths of Magick come together to share and grow in their chosen paths. We aren't here to "hook-up" or worry about who is what orientation. Remember the stereotyping and labels are usually given to people themselves not by others.

No one said there was segregation in mind.
Perhaps if you actually asked the founders they could tell whether or not the coven is JUST for those of GLBT orientation, or for anyone who just wants to learn the significance of either lifestyle.

There is magical and historical significance in such orientations, having a coven based on learning about that significance is not necessarily trying to encourage the separation between sexualities.

And as for the danger of homophobes attacking members of the coven, if they feel they have the right to stand for it well that's their business, isn't it?

Yes the fact that it was an independent coven (unestablished) was stated in the first post.

I believe tht it might work because to me being a gay man is empowerme
nt we are the true children of nature and like nature we are all linked I mean you must admit we all can sense eachother when our kind is around I mean I know for me its like radar a instant energy or vibe is given when we come in contact with someone whom is like us we automatically know without being told.

this isnt a dating site and yet some people do seem to think it is. if there was a glbt coven then i think it would make it easier for members to bombard each other with dating requests. this would be a bad idea. in theory the coven sounds like a good idea until you really do think about all the issues raised in this post.
