As Hedgewitch just said , as far as I know - Tonka beans. Some believe, that if you make a wish while throwing a tonka bean in a river or stream that runs, then your wish will come true.

There are a few other varieties outside of Tonka beans used in magick and prayer. Believe it or not, even Fava beans are used in religious ceremony.

Awaketoolong mentions Fava beans. Just so that some of our members don't mix them up with other sorts; here in the UK they are called Broad Beans

Further to Fava beans.I grow quite a few vegetables, and always put a sample on my altar, especially at Mabon and Samhain. This is just to ask the Gods to look favourably on my little "harvest". I leave the Fava beans in the pod on the altar.
By the way--I never cut flowers to put in a vase. Flowers belong in the ground; cutting them is needlessly killing plants. I may "pluck" a flower to put on the altar, but never bunches to put in vases!
