I've been offline for a while, now I'm back and I have a question.
Why do so many Pagans use angels in their religious practices?
I'm putting this question badly, I know, but I always thought that angels were a part of Xtianity, as were demons. Because of this, The symbology of both has always made me uncomfortable, to say the least.
Can someone please explain this to me? I'm NOT trying to put anyone who depends upon angel-demon symbology in their magic. I'm truly interested in understanding.

Definatley not, if anything Christianity has it wrong. Angels are actually more feisty and malicious than demons, at least in my experience( asking people who've met them).

Angels are used in some Pagan religions, though not all beleive. I guess it was another one of those things that the Catholics wanted to take away to show their "superiority."
Well, Goddess herself has answered my question. I am in the process of learning more about Hekate who is my Patron Goddess so I ordered a few books about Her from Amazon. I got the first one, Hekate, Limimal Rites, a couple of days ago.
Opening it at random, I read the chapter title, Hekate and The Angels. It seems that back then Hekate was regarded by the christians as a serious rival to Jesus and did a lot of writing about Her, putting her down.
The word angel comes from the Greek angelos which means messenger and may be associated with many deities as spiritual creatures serving them.
Hekate was specifically associated with angels as seen in the writings of that time. There is also lots of info on Her association with Demons.
So once again, I have a question and Goddess answers by directing my attention to a completely different(so I thought) area of study.
By the way, Hekate, Limimal Rites, is a great book!
