Well this country is still predominantly Christian so i think that faith is quite safe as well as all the others. I'm not sure who religion could fall its a set of ideas and ideas do not die.

So ya, 1950s, a lot sooner then I thought. I'd rather be free to believe and have to deal with it going fad then be dead or have to keep it fully secret(just my opinion anyways).

Heck, in some ways with our openness in the world these days, it has only brought more of us together.

i've noticed it too. alot of people seem to think that this is just a way to rebel and be scary or cool or whatever it is and dont seem to get that this is a real religion with real beliefs and goals. what ever is causing this influx of people considering it to be a trend needs a good kick in the teeth because for those of us who actually practice it and consider it a way of life find it offensive when people just start calling themselves pagan/wiccan and "casting spells" just because it's cool. I met a kid who claimed to be a satanist for two years and when i spoke part of the keys to him in both enochian and english he had no idea what i was quoting! it's like deadly waves of stupid are rolling across the country.

"it's like deadly waves of stupid are rolling across the country." I like that

I think thats due to people being lazy, not wanting to learn for themselves(aka reading) and instead play video games and such

What are these kids learning in school these days, where did the morals, ethics, and fundemental education go?

Christianity is at it's low, like a dog on alimp leg, its teetering, it may seem to heal for a while, but the end is inevidable.
If you don't see the decline, your blind, it's everywhere. You are reading old statistacs, while christianity is still a large religion, it is not as large, its like saying two billion and one billion are close in numbers just becasuse both are so large that you cant imagine them all. Occultists have for years been anticipating this, its what we are witnessing right now, for you it is either a great moment, or a terrible existance. i'm sorry if your on the less positive side of this but it is happening and if the christians want to save it they better jump on their recruiting bandwagon

It's a matter of opinion. I see more and more people at St. Peter's square every year. And they are catholic. As I mentioned there are more christian paths. As long as there are people to preach a religion can't die; any religion.

lol, that's just in America. There have been people fighting Christianity in America since Christianity first started to spread. You need a WORLDWIDE view to say "a religion is at it's end." That's like saying chocolate won't exist anymore because the Hershey factory is closing. Well, what about Switzerland? Are they not aloud to make chocolate(in metaphoric comparison- be Christian) just because the Hershey factory(in metaphoric comparison- America) is closing?

One of the first acts to lessen Christianity was, in fact, ending religious practices at school. Prior to that many schools in the South Eastern states had "prayer time" every morning, where the entire school would pray together. Now, instead those schools have "a moment of silence" for whatever reasons the students deem necessary... most think nothing of it. However, in other countries, Christianity is thriving and missionaries are converting more people in the places it hasn't been heard of before, so Christianity is still spreading.

Sorry for double posting, but as a potentially unimportant side note to what I mentioned about religious practice at school, one rebellious principal bolted the Ten Commandments to the school wall just outside the office area. No religious prosecution or prejudice takes place there. I have seen kids wearing everything from wooden crosses to gold pentacles, and the bible as well as a couple of other religious texts(including the quran, I think) can be found in their library.

I am 15 and also personally, a new comer to Wicca but I had no idea it had started becoming a "trend" I started studying Wicca on August 17, 2009 because I had finally found a religion that practiced spirituality that reached me in a way no other religion had. I know I can't fully say I practice Wicca quite yet, but even studying it for this short wile has opened my eyes to so many new things! And it is outrageous to think that people are claiming to be something they don't even know just to be "IN".
