As for movies, I'm a horror movie FREAK, I love them. Very few freak me out, and most aren't surprise endings for me. But the few that gave me pause were (and these are many the same as Kikuyo):

1) 1408. Creepy as heck! So many twists and turns!
2) The Strangers. A lot of people didn't like it, but I thought it was great.
3) The Exorcist. Darn Tootin'!

Personal stories, I have many, but I'll share one not so creepy one, but very cool none-the-less:

My Grammy died about 2 1/2 years ago. She and I (and my sister) were very close. She was an awesome woman, and even more awesome since she was dead and no one else (except me, my sister, and my half sister) could hear her. She was cheeky, a horn dog, and mischievous.

Anyhow, she died while my mother was recovering from having her hip replaced. My Grammy had been in the hospital, and they expected to release her the next day. She died that night.

My Mum was having issues with grief, especially since her hip wasn't healing right and she couldn't go to the funeral (which my Grammy attended and hated, btw). So Mum got into the "poor me" attitude that is common to her.

One day in the hospital (my mum was in the recovery and rehabilitation area for joint replacement patients) my mum was whining about how she "can't do it", and "won't ever get out of the hospital". Grammy was there, and very annoyed. The suddenly I felt VERY warm, and out of my mouth came "Move it or lose it, Marie."

As quickly as the warmth had come, it was gone. Grammy had walked into me to berate my mother. Mum sat and stared at me and said "Mom???" My dad (who's pretty quiet about his beliefs) said "Well, she IS hanging around Aelwyn". The phrase was also something my Grammy had often said to my Mum throughout the years (my mother was using a cane or in a wheelchair since my teens due to severe bone deterioration).

Not creepy, but pretty cool.

In one of my houses, for years at night you could hear a marble dropping on my floor. The floor is rock, and if you drop a marble on a smooth and hard surface, it bounces quite a few times. The noises is distinctive.
Every night, throughout the house, no matter where you were, you could hear it.
It wasn't pipes, it didn't travel, but it was the SAME noise you would get if you dropped a marble from your outreached hand onto the floor, and let it bounce.

My bedroom in that house always gave me a dark feeling, as if I wasn't alone, as if I was being watched. It was 'evil', as you would say, it didn't give the impression of being nice. Ever since I've stopped sleeping in that bedroom, ( it really creeps me out ) the noises have stopped.

One time, not too long ago, maybe a month, I decided to confront it. I decided to acknowledge it was there, and was going to leave a note and a pencil with a question written on it ( Who are you? ). The moment I went down the long hallway, unlocked the door ( the handle design is weird ), and put my hand on the door to push it open, something happened. I felt a HUGE wave of what I would call energy, flow from on top of my head down to my feet. I'd describe it as a somewhat cold and like an oval orb being thrown down on top of me.
I almost fell to my knees; they lost their strength. I was too frightened to go inside, so I just left it alone and put the note in place 2 hours later.

Another odd occurrence would have to have been when I turned around and saw a tall, pure white, and semi transparent woman in a long, flowing, sleeveless dress for about 3 seconds in an intersection of that same house. I had heard somewhere that spirits don't like loud noises, so after I was startled by the sight, and it disappeared, I immediately approached quickly to where it was standing and shouted "Leave this house!".

At times I also hear doors being slammed ( regardless of the house I am in ), walls cracking, and objects being put in silly places ( Milk in freezer after I turned around to get a glass ), even when no one is there, and when my two cats are in plain sight.

I've probably made a few grammatical mistakes, and I don't want to bother with proof reading, so bare with me.

One that I forgot to mention:

I was asleep and woke up. I had been awake for about 20 minutes, lying there and listening to TV. I decided to try to get more sleep, since when I get enough sleep I'm usually wide awake when I wake up. I laid down flat on my back and put my blanket over my face, and a minute later something pounced on me.
I felt it grasping my arms, I sank into the bed, and I heard whispering in a language I did not know. It sounded like a woman. I could not move at all, I could not talk at all. The only thing I could do is wiggle my lips and make rasping noises, trying hard to say a mantra that I believe gives me power over such things.
While trying to say it, the feeling went away, I 'unsank' from the bed, and I got out of bed, got dressed, and got out of the house because I was startled.

The mantra I was trying to say was "Rin, Py, T, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Zai, Zen", known as the 9 syllable seals.

My room in my house is very eerie too. The whole house was, even with the lights on. The darkness in my room at night feels very thick, as if it is crowded with a whole bunch of stuff I can't see.

One night, my mother had put me to bed and as she closed the door I heard something shift from behind it. I heard footsteps approaching and I was too scared to scream, thinking if I scream, it will find me faster lol. They reached my bed and I had to scream; I screamed like a maniac lol I was so frightened, and my mom came in. I told her what happened and she was spooked, but the footsteps never came back.

An obvious fix to this would be to sleep with the door open, but that creeped me out even more. I would see figures g by the room, and I knew they weren't family members by the lack of noise in the house (everyone walks like an elephant and has a very creaky door that I would have heard opening. On a sidenote, everyne's door makes a different noise lol, so you can tell who is moving about). I felt safer, not necessarily comfortable, with the door closed. I've become so accustomed to sleeping in that thick blackness that I can't sleep anywhere unless it's pitch black.

My dorm in college has a very empty feel to it, I suppose like a normal room should. And it is far too light to sleep well in :(. I want to investigate these odd noises I've been having in my room. It sounds like someone writing with chalk, somewhat hurriedly. The noise sounds like it is coming from the air (but being written on some surface) and it is really weird. I'm not scared by it, but rather baffled. And I know it isn't anyone in a room next to, above or below me because sound doesn't travel that well through the walls. It happens throughout the night. I'd love to know what story this spirit is writing.

Ughh, why'd the post glitch up? The 9 syllables were
Rin, Pyo, To, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Zai, Zen.
Maybe it was because of the alt characters.

now my experience is weird and one of the most frighting things in my life. the day i saw a black dog. i had never heard of one at the time and could never could explain what i saw until know matter fact ive never mentioned it to any one that wasn't there and didn't witness it.
we were walking late at night around 11 or 12 and all of a sudden every dog started barking so we stopped and were looking around and all of a sudden a large black thing not really sure it was a dog at all, because it was the size of a small pony and ran faster than any animal id ever seen in my area. he ran a quarter mile in a matter of seconds and jumped a over a creek that was a good 12 feet without breaking stride. now im also a hunter or used to be and decent at tracking and something stuck out more than anything and probably the reason i label it unexplained was it never made a noise including when it jumped into the woods and ran trough them.
