Lol it's not that rare. I have an online copy of it and my boyfriend had a paperback version. I also remember seeing a kid bringing it into school in 6th grade. I'm sure the magick could work if the intent was put behind it.

I. Love. H.R. GIGER!!!

But I dunno which mine is. I'll check my boyfriend's next time I see him. Mine is just a website where someone typed out the book. I can try and e-mail the webmaster.

The Necronomicon isn't real Joey.

This is something that's been spoken of before on this board. The search function is your friend, people.

There have been only really 2 necronomicons that actaully are 'true'. There's the Simon version which was made last century, based on real mythology, and there's Lovecraft's. His is ficticious and at best, the characters are servitors. Not indepndent entities. Any others, including the supposed Dee/Kelly version, are fakes.

any version of th necronomicon you find in the store is not the real necronomicon.and does not contain all the right parts of the rituals and working.for instance the safe guard from the shadow hounds or the guardians.if u don't believe me flip to the back pages of the book.

this book is not one to blatantly say this looks powerful i think i'll try it! when u should be saying this looks dangerous i think i'll leave it alone.

my main suggestion is that you do not look for a true copy.it's more trouble then it's worth!trust me.

It's real, but it is very serious and not for beginners. The Simon version is the best in my magick teacher's opinion and he's been using it for years. Simon also wrote a book called, Gates of the Necronomicon, which (according to my teacher) is a great companion to Simon's Necronomicon. It gives more details about things than his Necronomicon, because that one is a translation of the original written in the 8th century, which was written in haste because the author felt he was at Death's Door and wanted to get it done so the information was left behind. The knowledge contained within was dying out, even in his day, and that is why it was so important for him to write as much as possible before his death.

There have been ancient tablets discovered and translated that contain some of what is written in the Necronomicon almost word for word. Atleast one of the tablets is Akkadian (forgive me if I misspelled that).
