question 1 of 1 billion

I did a spell last night. After the spell was complete I got all tingly. So either it worked or I was having a stroke. My question is, are there physical tells of a successful spell?

Apart from what you feel in your spiritual body. Rarely.

Most spells do not work instantly unless it is a banishing spell. They take time. Depending how much energy you used in the spell, that could be what you are feeling. You know, the energy leaving you to work the spell. Believe it or not, it can actually take a lot of energy to work magic depending on what type you are doing, so it would not be uncommon for you to feel tired or tingly after working magic.

What you felt I believe is the residual energy left behind after you cast your spell. Yes this is a good sign and also is the reason that most teachings say to ground and center yourself after you do any magickal work so that you get that stray energy out of your body.

I'm inclined to agree with Dillon. After rituals, Sabbats, etc. many individuals eat a small meal as a way to ground the excess energy created during the magical workings. Others work with the energy and use visualization methods to ground it. The choice of how you actually go about it is entirely up to you. It's always a good idea to ground yourself sometimes both prior to and after works of magic. If you don't excess energy can build up and very often become a problem, as it can interfere with future spells, rituals, etc.

Personally, I ground energy after every ritual or spell using visualization. During the Sabbats I eat a small meal and perform a grounding as well if it's needed.

you probably put in a lot of energy, unless it was some type of spell you did on yourself, energy healing for example. i know from experience once i finish a ritual and open the circle, i' exhausted. when i use Ouija Boards, they drain energy, so we tend to take breaks, eat an apple or something, and recharge. luckily most of my casting is done with a coven, so i'm never badly drained anymore.

when you do any type of magic though, you should feel something, doesn't have to be tingles, could be warmth, energy [too much or too little] change in mood, so on.

Don't worry, this is normal. The tingle you feel is probably your aura reacting to the magic you performed. Oftentimes the same happens to me when I perform a spell, it's nothing to worry about.

To answer your question of whether spells can have physical effects, in my experience they can, but only if you intend it or you effect your personal energy. The latter will only occur if you aren't careful, it's easily rectified by grounding and balancing your energy, and its effects are temporary and harmless. At worst, you might feel tired or slightly ill, but it'll pass.

One other thing, doing spells that are meant to cause physical effects drains your internal energy. Practice makes it more efficient, but always keep your limits in mind while casting spells or you'll tire yourself out. Spiritual or telepathic magic has no such downside, but can also effect your health if you do it too much. For instance, astral projecting too many times over several days will leave you disconnected from your physical sensations and the world around you (I.e. your head will be in the clouds).
