I have a bit of a problem (apart from being new at this) Whenever I attempt astral projection (or at least what I think it is) my body stops breathing, hence I can only go for as long as I can go without air. People talk about a "cord" and I would like to know more about it.
Astral Projection is difficult for many people. It takes paitence and hardwork to be able to achieve this. The most far I've ever gotten was going into trances.
You shouldn't stop breathing. Your breathing will slow down but it shouldn't stop.
The cord you mentioned is a cord that links your physical body to your spiritual body.
The cord isn't real manifestation to show your going to be safe.The best time to astral project is when you are in a lucid dream way easier. (From my experience)
Demonkin, you can't astral project while in a lucid dream. If trying so, you will either wake up or change your surroundings of what you perceive astral as. And it's a great way to land in sleep paralysis, which can be a horrid experience for beginners.
The silver cord is simply what connects you to your physical body and astral body. It can't ever break but can become weak. I think you're becoming too relaxed. It sounds like you may start falling asleep, but sleep apnea may be a problem. Or it may simply be an illusion. Nevertheless, if this carries into regular sleep, consider medical assistance. Otherwise, change positions. Sometimes unusual positions land you into comfortable trances and will provide a safe passage into the astral world. Make sure you aren't strained or uncomfortable whatsoever, or your experience will be unpleasant.
