Well,honestly it'd be best to write your own.It'd be more effective,and more reliable,as many of the spells on this site are written by people who dont even know how a spell works.

For the weight-loss spell, look for (or write one yourself) that focuses on suppressing appetite and aiding in healthy eating habits. Do not expect it to work overnight, it will work like an ordinary "diet" (healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week). As for protection, are you referring to personal protection (in that case i would recommend a cleansing bath with meditation, charming a piece of jewelry that you wear everyday or making a protective mojo bag. Or are you referring to protecting your home/ and or sacred space? (In that case I would recommend a witch's bottle, saging the space, and clearing the space of all negative energy). As for the meditation, no spell is needed for that. Meditation is a form of deep relaxation and reflection. If you need some help getting started or just don't know what to do, try some guided meditation sites. The audios there are often free. Meditation Oasis and Fragrant Heart meditation are two great sites that I have used. Good luck!
Before trying spells you need to understand how they work. So maybe read Magick made Easy
Also you cant be stressed while doing a spell and yo have to do it exactly as it says....if it says chant the spell chant it, don't scream it.
Also try simple spells, don't do complicated spells.
If none of these work try meditating before you do the spell.

For a person, who's new to the practicing arts, it's too dangerous.
