Aura mixing

I have heard lovecraft referred to as a quack but 20 something years ago in a small coastal town, all i could find was a copy of the wiccan bible. I would carry it around from class to class. Trying to squeeze in as many pages as possible. Being ridiculed by classmates wanting to know if i was going to turn them into a frog. But if memory serves me correctly they said that intimate relations between adult couples should generaly take place on the new moon because your auras mix and can interfere with rituals and spells. And that 1 week after was the guidline for resuming work.

As far as I know, aura mixing is not a problem with magical practices. Now, could intimate relations between a couple cause a problem in a magical practice? Yes and no, it all depends on what the circumstances of what you are doing it are. In many of the newer magicial traditions, bodily fluids (saliva, sweat, blood, etc) are awesome for charging objects or spells, and intimate energies can be used to perform certain tasks. However, if what you are doing is a purity restricted task, you would best be not having intimate relations. This is not because the auras of the two people might mix, but rather because the nature of the spell/working may cause it to fail.

Within Kemeticism, purity is a big thing, especially for priests (male or female), however even the lay person is set to certain requirements. Rolling out of bed, sweaty and unpure was not a good way to go into the altar/shrine/temple space of ancient times, and Kemetics today consider it equally a bad idea. The deities and their sacred spaces were prized, and this sacredness was kept as much as possible (in regards to their formal temple/shrine worship). In personal homes purity was less high of a requirement, but the gods didn't have homes like they did in the temples/shrines. For the priests, there were specific requirements before they began their time in the temple/shrine, including no less than a week of celibacy. Because of this, before performing workings which involve my deities or their sacred spaces, I ensure that I am as clean as possible. I treat my body like it should be a temple itself, something which is untouched.

I hope that answers your question.

I think a few minutes of common sense would tell you that couples aren't apt to restrict their relations to the new moon. The idea that any other time causes problems is just plain foolishness, at least in my honest opinion.

I think it means that if you believe it, then like adding correspondences, herbs, candles, oils, writings, spoken words, dedication, personal effects, energy and tools and representations to rituals and spells, that you will have better results. Kind of like eating pork only on the full moon and samhain when the vail between the spirit world and our world is the thinest and all spirits, good and bad may cross back and forth. Some people beleived that pork was dirty and therefore would disguise your innocence, if eaten then, from evil spirits. If you beleive it and practice it, then it can add power to your rituals and spells. Whether it is recognized widely is surely debateable, but peopl do practice it. Whether they say so or not.

Sataset. Thank you for the information. You have sparked my interest into researching what i can find about kemeticism. Also, i thought that auras were your personal energy fields. Recently i have seen people posting that karma doesnt exist for anyone who does not follow that path they mentioned. How can one gain a solid foothold on reality with that kind of thinking? Legitimate question, no dig intended, and i am sure im not the only one wondering. As far as what i mentioned above, i will go out on a limb here and say that i have tried to adhere to these principals for many years. It hasnt been easy and over time i have gotten better at it.

intimate relations between a couple isn't restricted to certain moon phases, think back to pagans and early wiccans, having intimate relations at certain moon phases merely represented different levels of fertility and whether or not they wanted a baby. Also, there is power in one who is impure too, not dirty, but impure, because the maiden has purity, the mother however, is no dainty maiden, she is not pure as the maiden, but her power comes from vertility and what ordeals she has seen in her life, the crone is not pure, but has experienced the world, tasted, smelt, seen, heard, touched everything she wishes she had done. If you attempt a purity spell, good luck, but you can always clease your aura or cut off the exchange of energy which may lead to impurity of the aura, though I would not recommend that since it may effect your love life.

Oakgrove, in addition to what all of you said, i think that healthy willpower and strength excercises other than mundane dieting and excercise can bring one closer to the divine. Lets not forget laughter and joking and playing. Obviously, after studying the last couple days i can see how many different views there are out there and how gardner set the tone for buckland and so on. Gardner (through bucklands), buckland, crowley and lovecraft were pioneers. However. I dont feel comfortable putting ecclectic in front of wiccan on my bio. Maybe after studying the equinoxes, solcetices, crossquarters again. Maybe not. Thanks so much for being here and discussing things. ~blessed be~

Barbi, I thought we were talking about aura mixing, intimate relations, etc, not about karma?
