fear

I am afraid of the unknown. Things in the dark that hunt me. I am also afraid of canables. And power. Power corrupts and I have a thirst for power.

I agree with you about the things of the dark hunting me, I'm pretty scared of that, too

I feel like everyone's afraid of what they can't see. I know every time I step out at night I feel calm and peaceful, for the sun and day is no my forte, but when I step I to the true darkness and I cant see anything I feel discomfort. I start to feel things around me that I normally can't. Mabey it's just me but I feel there is plenty of reason to be afraid of what lies in the dark, just don't let that control you.
And for fearing power. I sorta understand. I don't fear what I'll do with power, but I fear the responsibilities. But just never search for power of your afraid of corruption.

Do you mean cannibals? I think most people have a fear or at least an apprehension about the unknown. Nothing is hunting you in the dark, and really there is little reason to fear cannibals in 2013 in the USA. There are some really frightening things in the modern world, a major financial recession and massive unemployment, politics, the environment, the constant threat of war in the world. The things you cite are childhood fears, they will fade with time as the responsibilites, fears and worries of the adult world take their place. In regards to the power thing, rich and powerful do sound way more appealing than poor and weak, but it takes a lot of hard work and quite a bit of luck to get to acquire power. I know some very "powerful" people, they worked very hard and paid a lot of dues to get their positions in life. They do not abuse or misuse their power...as one gentleman told me "those with actual power dont trip on it". I think it is more the corrupt who have an excessive thirst for power rather than the power corrupting.

You have a point with the those with absolute power don't trip on it. I believe it's a temptation every one who gets power has. The strong ones don't give it. And the canible thing only got worse as I grow older. The good thing is I'm step by step getting over my fears. I felt like admitting it,would help.

The only thing in the dark is a spirit or your imagination. The only account of non prison related cannibalism is the Florida thing where some homeless guy was high on bath salts and ate some guys face before the police shot him. Just go away from homeless people with bath salts. If you have a thirst for power don't be scared of it, imagine how the other people like you feel about wanting power:-/
