Point of Magick

What is the point of magick? It doesn't have a really point that someone set up and everyone else agreed to in a vote. To some it is to gain strength and not be weak. To others it is to have control in you life. And maybe to the rest is to have fun. There are many points in Magick that you can follow. Either you make one up that fits you or follow someone else points that makes since to you. I don't think that the point of magick is about looking cool or hurting others. You can do those without it. Also with the Wicca Rede (Hope spelled it right) it gives you someone else point, Shall not harm non. Sorry if those are not the exact words.

Magick has no point but your own or what you see fit... Sure yeah... But you can have more then one point. Like to make your life better and to learn more about the world. You can have as many points as you want.

Your going to have to have a open mind for this part tho, because if you meet someone with another point and thinks your point is not true or nothing... Then your just going to have to accept it and let them be. Even tho it sounds evil wrong. Let the person be them self and hopefully they let you be yourself.

Magick has many doors, you can agree which one you believe is right but you can't do that to others so easily... Unless of course their new and don't understand much.

I am not sure what got me to do this but I felt like doing it.

I have read once that any magick used for a goal or purpose other than attainment of an enlightened state, or communion with the higher self, holy guardian angel, spirit guide, etc. can be considered the darkest magick of all. That is to say... Magick used to acquire any goal attached to physicality, should be avoided. We hear this in not so many words when we hear things like "practical problems, have practical solutions."
Do I believe this? Hard to say. I know that my soul purpose of being a practitioner is simply attainment and communion. Do I use it to accomplish other things? It's hard not to if you KNOW you can.
The point of the Magick, depends a lot on the beliefs of the person. Someone who upholds the "harm none" rede, for instance, will have different ideas of what practice should be than someone who upholds "do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law", in which we simply say, "if you must harm, do it swiftly."Some may or may not put heart in the law of three. Karma. How these things exist or do not exist in one's mind, will define a lot of the measures the practitioner will take, and what feats may or may not be accomplished with the use of their own magick.
When we look at a very open definition of what magick is, it can help to further define the point of magick. Magick is any act by which change is brought into fruition through will. That said, it is obvious to see, that the point of some magick, is simply to make flowers grow. To make correct change if you're a cashier or bank teller. To walk to the store to get milk, or to go to the dairy and milk a cow yourself. Beyond these very ordinary personal acts of magick, there are much more complicated or simple, darker, lighter, or totally neutral practices. Rituals. Sigils. Telepathy. Empathy. Different forms of telekinesis (a lot of them.), numbers, letters, herbs, metals, angels, demons, gods, goddeses, mythology, theosophy, theophory, philosophy, and all of the reading that goes along with all of these things and all of the things I didn't touch on.
So it's my opinion, the most important point of magick, is that the practitioner NEVER STOPS LEARNING. When we stop learning we lie dormant and we retract ourselves making the attainment of any goal next to impossible, be it physical, spiritual, or somewhere between the two.

Love is the law. Love under will.

Kinda like what I said but you used more Examples, I didn't want to explain why everyone thought is different or why everyone has a different point in magick because I didn't want you to miss the point. Of course your point makes since so I am glad you posted it.

You also have to take into account that evil and good are a point of view there is no such thing, and I agree never stop learning.

Lets not forget magic is used for causes more than any other purpose. For instance, (and flamevipers will most definately have something to say about this) Those who use magic for dark purposes. They use if for their own cause. Those who fight against them because they see those acts as evil, also have a cause.

That isn't the wiccan rede. I am a druid, not a wiccan. I simply stated my opinion.
