I don't know if it's true but it is a tree that if you cut it with a sharp object probably a knife or cutlass it tends to bleed and it's real blood which it brings out. — Only seen it in movies before.

Bleeding trees is a phenomena where the tree produces copious amounts of sap in order to heal a wound. The sap contains antibacterial and coagulating properties that can seal small would, but in many cases it is too fluid to seal anything larger. Especially common in the spring when the sap "rises" it would be at it's peak around now. Not sure about Magickal properties or meanings, sorry, but it is most certainly real.

dang, again, i agree with Rikki. my family is full of landscapers, if you trim trees too early or too late they will 'bleed'. magickally i'm not too sure, but personally i'd use it to curse someone because bleeding isn't good for a tree, or in a protection since it's the tree trying to protect itself. [also the red sap from the dragons blood tree is where we get dragons blood from] the apocalyptic bleeding tree is biblical, so unless you believe in the bible i wouldn't worry too much about it. it's just a natural thing trees sometimes do.

Mentioning dragon's blood resin, the authentic stuff comes from a specific type of tree infected by a certain fungus (or was that a bacteria? Disease will suffice) which the tree responds to with a changed sap. The disease ultimately kills the tree.
