a year and a day

Hello folks. Just joined and have been researching Wicca for a few weeks and even cast a few spells. I was wondering about the year and a day study and is it necessary? Thank you and blessed be. Like the name of group and it jumped out at me due to hiding all this from DH(the husband) because he would flip out.

Well let's start with the fact that Wicca has little or nothing to do with casting spells. Wicca is a religion with very specific beliefs and practices. As a religion the decision to choose this particular spiritual path is not one that should be taken lightly or without adequate study and practice to insure that this is right for you. The reason for the " year and a day " (which isn't literal, it just means after some time) is that it is to give you enough time to fully learn what this religion is all about and to determine that you want to dedicate your life to following this particular spiritual path. And in your case, how are you going to balance being Wiccan and not upsetting your husband. What will you do if he flips out?
