ogham alphabet

I'm trying to find an article somewhere on the internet with the Ogham alphabet. None of them are the same, and I can't find a reliable source. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be forever grateful

Ogham is one subject, by its very subject, that could never be world standardised. Even the number of symbols has variety and it is never sure if the original alphabet was 20 symbols, 18 symbols or even less. Even our own latinised 26 symbol alphabet has had different numbers of symbols through the ages.

I use 20 Ogham symbols to present my tale of Ogma's Tale Of Trees around the myth of Ogma being the first teacher of Ogham, tales of him doing this around where I live.

Link for that is http://www.ogmatrees.com/
If this does not show as a link here, then my Profile here has a link to it. Have fun with it :-)

First of all one would have to say which ogham one is interested in. The Tree Ogham, which is the best known is just one of many. For a really good understanding of the Ogham I'd suggest the books " Ogam: Weaving Word Wisdom " by Erynn Rowan Laurie and " Celtic Tree Mysteries - Secrets of the Ogham " by Steve Blamires

One of the more accurate on-line sources for the meanings of the ogham can be found at http://www.uponreflection.co.uk/ogham/ogham_alphabet.htm

Remember that the Ogham is not an ancient Irish Celtic alphabet. The Celts had no written language. The Ogham came along after the Roman alphabet reached Ireland towards the end of the Celtic period and it is based on the modern alphabet we use today.
