I have not been successful with Astral Projection .However, I've been dealing with sleep paralysis since I was a toddler. Is it safe to practice or attempt astral projection while on the bus?.I frequently take long bus rides via Greyhound.

No don't do it.

Meditation on the bus is fine, but for the really deep meditation that leave your body void of consciousness--I strongly advise against it!

Unless your kind of astral projection is closer to shamanic vision quests in which case most neo-shamans balance their astral projections with waking life just fine. But to try for an out-of-body experience? No.

I advise against it but you can as long as you know all about astral projection and how to find you way back through the silver cord connecting you to your physical body ... but for your first time I would have to say no, rather try quiet places where you are centered on the ground... different techniques work for different people so rather try your safest bet that won't cause any problems..

Other than completely blanking out it would not be dangerous. But if you are having difficulty with it I do not see how being around all that noise and movement will help. Also what does any of this have to do with sleep paralysis?

Ere, I was told online that sleep paralysis was a step in Astral Projection.

Sleep paralysis has nothing to do with astral projection. Its just something people experience when the brain wakes up before the body connections do. Many have experienced this, some may never. Either way, it has nothing to do with AP.

Astral projection is hard, it's not the easiest thing to learn. If you can let your mind flow on the bus, I say go for it. However it can take lots of energy, and also almost daydreaming on a bus...could be bad. Remember it's up to you, your the only boss.

As Aeonwing mentioned there are different definitions for astral projection.

Atral projection for me is the semi-conscious projection of consciousness into an external space, or a space I perceive to be external. I am still very much present in my body.

I define an outer-body experience as etheric projection.

Now, astral projections is much more simple than people make it out to be. Etheric projection is much more difficult.

I don't think I could do either on a bus. It would be too noisy and my focus would not be at its maximum/ I would also not be able to physically relax.

It is my opinion, and the opinion of others, that the best time for projection is later in the night, or early in the morning when you have little distraction from the outside world. (Unless you live in the middle of nowhere.)

Sometimes you are fine, other times the sounds of cars, people, schools, TV etc. all get to you and effect you aversely.

Is it safe? Hard to say. Always practice AP after banishing/setting up a sacred space, if you can do that on a bus I'd be impressed.

Everyone's experience with AP is different. Mine is actually accompanied sometimes with sleep paralysis at first. I astral project differently from most people. Just like sleep paralysis, astral projection happens to me on its own. I don't have to use normal routes like others to get there unless I willfully wish to astral project at a particular time.

So, trust your instincts.

As for projecting on the bus.....not always a good idea to practice in public unless you are with like minded people. For practical safety reasons also, you might want to remain in the present physical world whilst on a moving bus.
