Describing Magick

How exactly would you guys describe magic. I am in the process of writing a book on magic and wicca, but am not exactly sure what to say about what magic is or isn't. All i can write so far are vague answers that wouldn't exactly help the reader understand magic unless he is an expert in understanding meanings in vague descriptions. So, any information would be greatly appreciated.

Why do you write a book about something you don't understand or have knowledge about?

Nugias is right, why write about about something you don't understand? It would just cause more confusion.

Magick is seen as different things by different people but the easiest definition [to paraphrase Scott Cunningham] is the very real natural force we use to make subtle changes to help us in life. It is a natural force, it is energy, and while powerful, as a part of nature it cannot go against nature. As an energy it can be used to change the energies around us and help us where we need it. It cannot do physical changes or alterations to your DNA as this would go against nature. Only energy can be effected by magick. It is also not a toy or a fix all. Sometimes the Gods/universe will interfere if you do not deserve the results or it is not the time. Casting a love spell, a wealth spell, a luck spell, and a beauty spell within the same period of time is asking too much and can lead to negative effects. Same if you cast a job spell then site and wait for your reward. You reap what you sew. Magick helps you be in the right place at the right time, it does not pass your resume out and force employers to call you. If you have done interviews, then it can give the employer the 'hire him' feeling, but if you do nothing, so will magick. It's a two way street.
