Hi,
I need elderberries for casting and I had planted some which are now fully grown, but I can't seem to remember or tell which are the elderberries and which are the pokeberries... Any help? So here is the question: What are the differences between an elderberry and a pokeberry?

Thx so much!!!

Pokeberry plant has a large round leaf and the berries look more like buleberries. Elder berry has a pointed leaf and small berries. I believe poke berry is poisonness. My Grandmother made ink from them, the whole plant is poisoness. The leaves can be eaten but must be before the red viens appear. Then it still take very carefull preparation so not to make anyone ill.

Elderberries are smaller and they grow in clusters. Pokeberries grow in like a cone(ish) cluster shape. Also, elderberry stems are brown towards the roots whereas stem of poke is gernerally a purple-red colour.
