Magic oil recipes??
By:
Hi
I'm very confuse with some magic oil recipes. Some of them use 1 Part & some use drops.
I would like to know if "Part" mean for dried herbs? It said suppose to be Oils but they use "Part" not drops.
How do you charge the oil to make it work?
Can anybody help me? Thank you so much in advanced

part means that whatever you are using, you keep the same measurement for each "Part" multiplying it by the number. So for instance, if a recipe calls for

2 parts thyme
3 parts rosemary
4 parts oil

You can substitute the word "part" for teaspoon, tablespoon, pinch, etc to fill the requirement for how much you need for the task at hand. Say I picked "1/4 teaspoon" instead of part

1/2 teaspoon thyme
3/4 teaspoon rosemary
1 teaspoon oil

would be my final recipe for the amount I desire (or have on hand). If it is essential oils you are using, then you may use "part" to mean "drop" for a tiny batch if you wish. Some recipes are truly meaning dried herbs unless they say "essential oil" or "the essence of" etc. Fresh herbs are rarely included in oil recipes because of the bacteria that can be created. For instance, do you know that garlic sitting in oil can create botulism in the wrong environment? So stick with dry herbs with oil especially if you plan to ingest it, regardless if the ingredients are normally non-toxic and safe for consumption.
